Royce White

We melted down over Chizik leaving. We don't like to be left behind either way.

I kind of miss watching Chizik's recruits play ball. Won some games.

Seriously though, Chizik leaving was like, 'Really?'.

And Fred leaving is like, 'REALLY!!!??? C'MON!!!'.

Very different scenarios, as defined by the use of caps/punctuation.

Bulls - 6 Championships in 8 years...Nebrasketball, 0 NCAA Tourney wins....EVER.

Other than that...

Umm I think you missed Nebraska football in the 1990s. They used to be really really good. Like the Bulls were at about the same time.

I could see Fred trying to get traded from the Celtics! He knows the system and could back up Butler!

Im sure Fred laid out a plan for the Bulls front office on his vision of the team which included acquiring as many marginal NBA players from ISU as possible, it's a real market inefficiency in today's game.

If not Royce, Ejim and Kane would do.

If he is willing to do it, every NBA team should sign up Royce to their D league affiliate and see if he travels and cooperates well. Of course it isn't going to be for the money he was making with his rookie contract, but if the guy wants to play and travel it's worth the tiny D-league contract to sign him up on a trial.

Full disclosure that I'm a huge Bulls fan of 30 years and Cyclone Fan of 20...but Kane gives you some positives compared Hinrich and possibly E'Twuan Moore on the Bulls roster. I think Ejim might be able to say that for some teams but not Chicago, if there's a guy you could argue Ejim could take a roster spot it'd have to be McDermott and I'm not going to say that at all.

Then next year any team looking to draft a pure point guard could be making a great move with MM, unless there are some amazing European point guards entering the draft I don't know about. The Bulls don't have a pass first point guard like Morris currently. Rose is backed up by a shoot first PG and a past his prime Hinrich...and you can't count on Rose in that lineup either.

Babb is a poor man's Butler if you're looking for some interchangeable parts ;-)

Floyd brought in a lot of Cyclones to the Bulls...Fred was the closest thing to a player working out and he didn't really click as an NBA rotation guy until Minnesota. Then again with the roster Floyd started with why not give a shot to Dedric Willoughby.

One guy was "firmly entrenched" and bolted, but until the 11th hour was still selling Iowa State. The other landed "his dream job" but always "had a goal to coach in the NBA" and made no secret about it to potential recruits whom we eventually did not land. Then, there's that 3rd guy who took half his recruits with him to Penn State.

Cael is on another level in terms of out of left field. If wrestling was our #1 sport instead of 3rd or 4th most popular people would still be melting down about it. Can't blame him for taking the $, but I highly doubt he couldn't have won NCs here with the trajectory he had.

People are ****** about him following his dream. I don't get it. It sucks for ISU, but he isn't screwing us over when he is the one who got us to a place where it hurts to lose him.

This reminds me of the hate some on here spout when a highly recruited player chooses somewhere else. The priorities of some people are mind boggling.

i will be very disappointed to see Hoiberg leave and personally feel it's too early after last year's end, but can't fault the man for following his dream that has been well known to us from the beginning.
