Royce White

Royce White has been great for cyclone basketball. Even if he stays or goes he will still have left a huge impact on basketball here in Ames. With that being said I think he still is in love with the Twin Cities. So that makes me think that with Fred's connection with that team it makes a lot of sense that if he is able to go play for the Timberwolves he will most likely go. I sure hope he does come back

Sorry, but it doesn't work that way. You cannot guarantee someone that they will go to a certain team, unless that team has the #1 pick and tells you that they will take him. Otherwise, any team picking before Minnesota could grab Royce.

I thought that Royce might struggle in the NBA because of his size. After last night I'm not so sure that is such an issue. I thought Royce played more in the paint last night than he has all year, against great competition, and he obviously did very well.

With that said, Fred will give him good advice that will be best for Royce.

I was pondering last night: who is a better pro, Royce or Draymond Green?

Green is a little bigger (maybe) and has a 3 pt shot, but Royce a better passer and younger.

I'm biased, but I thought RW was the best player on the court for long stretches of the game, even better than all the NBA prospects wearing Kentucky jerseys. There's no guarantee his NBA stock will get any higher than it is right now. I'd love to be wrong, but I think he's off to bigger and better things. If that's the case, then it was one hell of a great one year run. He's not the greatest Cyclone of all time, but he certainly is one of a kind. I'm paraphrasing Calipari here, but when are we ever going to have a point guard in a linebacker's body again?

At first thought, and a biased one too, I thought I'd rather have Royce as an NBA GM, but after thinking about it for a while longer, I'm not so sure?

Green is taller, has a much better shot, and is a pretty decent passer in his own right. He isn't the ballhandler of course that Royce is, but I'm not sure how effective a ballhandler Royce will be in the NBA against much quicker defenders?

I think Green has more ways that he can put the ball in the basket, which might make him a better prospect? Not sure if Royce will be able to just physically dominate people as much in the NBA as he does in college? It's a tough call.

the big question is can Royce develop a jumper? He gets that done under Fred or the next level....Royce becomes a Charles Barkley/Magic Johnson hybred.

He reminds me a lot of Charles Barkley, granted without the shooting stroke. I'd be surprised if he made it to the Second Round, but could and should be a lottery pick in 2013.

Isn't green listed at 6'6? royce listed at 6'8 even tho we all are Pretty sure he's 6'6-6'7. BTW the main reason everyone thinks he won't be a great pro is because he's undersized.... but what if he actually is 6'8 and has a wingspan around 7'2 and reach of 8'10 8'11 or so?? Height doesn't matter. Reach and wingspan matter. he would be guarenteed first rounder
