Rounding out the recruiting class

Add Gray and Gooch and this will be a very good class.

Those would probably be the top 2 targets now I would hope. We got our RB, another CB and DE today so I really would love another LB and a S.

Now... with signing day right around the corner... any potential surprises anyone might think we will see? I'm curious to see if Seonbuchner sticks with ISU or ends up at Wisconsin.

Should we be worried about Seonbuchner? I'm hoping to get DT Guy & LB Gooch- two positions in serious need of depth. I'd be pleasantly surprised if we landed Gray, but with Warren committing and his strong Mississippi State lean, I'd think it's highly unlikely.

So is it 1st come 1st serve and how many recruits can we take yet? What would be the order of who gets 1st choice? Has everybody visited or is somebody coming next weekend?

Staff still wants another JUCO DT, Moala or Guy
Gray is good enough that you find a spot for him no matter what. He's a DB in college

I heard it from my brother. He is a giant sports nerd and always gives me good information on things. He told me last night that it was what he has been hearing from an Iowa message board and that it is probably just a rumor. Not sure what to make of it. Really would not make sense for a senior to leave when he is most likely going to start. But then again, it didn't make sense for Bevins to leave. Guess it's wait and see if anything comes of it.

I heard about it in the office from a guy on the Rivals site. Over there, they made it clear that the whole thing came from a Hawkeye site. As I heard it, the story involved Coe and 10-12 others transferring. Just the scope of it made the whole thing something to blow off.

Why?

Gooch visited Cincy last weekend. Let's see what happens. I have a feeling we are taking Moala at DT. We have a pressing need there with Jensen leaving. Gray is possible but IMO he stays in Mississippi. Stud athlete though.

Not sure of the attrition we have off our roster. CPR has historically not had signing day surprises. This is a pretty good class IMO. Contrast this one with CPR's first class.

There have to be more leaving bc otherwise they are over the limit now and they are still trying to sign more. It will be interesting to see who it is

Seonbuchner is coming to ISU. He's been committed here for a while now and if he was going to switch I doubt he would wait this long. He seems to be really good friends with other recruits too. He's a Cyclone. Not a doubt in my mind.

I see us taking either JuCo DT that is visiting this weekend and one more player, either Gooch or Gray.

Your last sentence doesn't make sense though. Warren is a RB and Gray is a DB. Warren's commitment doesn't change Gray's recruitment. They're different positions.

Gray is really good friends with Jordan Harris. If Mississippi State doesn't have a scholarship for Gray he will be a Cyclone.

Sorry- he's listed as a RB on his Scout profile. Is Mississippi State recruiting him as a RB? Does he have a preference?

About to say the same thing about Seonbuchner, he could not be more excited to come to ISU

Both ISU and Mississippi State are recruiting him as a CB/Safety. Mississippi State has a guy committed there now but he just took a visit to Southern Miss last weekend. Miss State was not happy about that but they're over it and that guy is still going to Miss State. It all comes down to whether Miss State has room to add Gray or not. If Miss State doesn't have room for him then he'll come here.

Gray is visiting Miss State this weekend. We'll likely see where he is going sometime this weekend. I am surprised it took until the very last weekend possible before he officially visited Miss State. If we can get him this late in the process that is an absolute steal.

Michael Warren's commitment does effect Marlon Mack though. As of right now he is scheduled to visit ISU this weekend but I wouldn't be surprised if that changes.

What is the purpose of bringing up Seonbuchner leaving? There is NOTHING to suggest that all. Is this another one of your brother heard on HawkeyeReport that Coe is done?

Spreading rumors is fun. Didn't know we were in the 9th grade.

He'll commit to MSU. Seems like a Mike Marry situation all over again, although our DB needs aren't as big as the LB needs were then.

David Moala is no longer visiting ISU this weekend. Instead he is visiting Kansas State. He will visit ISU if he doesn't commit to anyone by signing day.

This should make Antonio Guy our number one target. Need help at DT.

Ding ding ding! Priority.

Curious that he only has offers from Cal & Oregon State. Two decent BCS programs and no mid-majors. His measurables are definitely there.
