Normally as we approach March, teams start to widdle down to 7/8 main rotations. Given our inability to score consistently, and the importance put on our defensive intensity, do you think we should stick with playing everyone and subbing frequently like we did against Baylor? Keeps us higher energy and maybe gives us some relief from foul trouble?

I would say YES....but then I know better than to base it on one game. But I still think it helps keeping guys fresh and ready off the bench if they sense that spurt of time they might get. I really liked Rob and Tre starting. See how the game is officiated etc., before Osun gets two early fouls right away. Will be very curious if he does that on Thursday. But, what do we know, maybe those two had out-practiced the others? Or they sensed the matchup was good vs. Baylor with those guys? All I know is, Holmes was good and he shared the ball. Well, as we know, they ALL did.

Just happy to see Watson and Ward getting time again. They were in January and was scratching my head what happened in February.

With our style of play I was wondering why TJ wasn't doing it the last few games. Maybe trying to battle harden the starters?

not bashing you at all, but battle harden the starters made me chuckle. I think they were plenty 'hardened' already.

It has become apparent that Gabe is our leader and our team goes as Gabe goes it seems. He doesn't have to score a lot but being out there, he seems to be the key to O and D.
To follow up with my thought, who is our leader for next year? With returning players, it is always best if it is one of them. We got Lipsy, Tre, Watson who have seen decent time, Williams has been injured but with the team. The others don't seem to be in the position to take it. I'm guessing Tamin or Williams will need to be that guy to lead.

Yeah I think it needs to be Tamin.
We all know he's got a few things to work on over the offseason but all in all he was good and composed this year in a tough situation.

If I remember it right, Williams was touted as having extreme team character and leadership accolades coming in. So if he's like Holmes, who turned out to be the guy they said he would be, I like that.

Gabe still played 38 minutes yesterday.
Yeah, I'm sure the substitution patterns had something to do with Grill's dismissal. Just hard to figure how TJ is doing it some nights. He see's practice all week, and has far more knowledge about basketball than I ever will, but it's puzzling sometimes.

He also has a staff with a wealth of knowledge that see things we don't and know what would work or not vs. strengths of both teams.

Looking ahead if all that can come back do.

PG: TL, Williams
SG: E. King, Fish, Hamilton
SF: Momcilovic, Watson
PF: T. King, Biliew
C: Jones, Ward

Pretty obvious we'll be in the market for a big and probably a SG.

The team was fresh, had more days off than normal as they played on Monday. The last time we played on Monday and got this much rest, we blew out Kansas. I really believe with TJs style, fatigue is something they have to watch out for later in the season, especially if he isn't going to use much of his bench. Yes, Gabe played 38 minutes, but since we had more days off, he is the guy that can handle it. Late in the season if he is playing 38 minutes then having to hit the floor a couple of days later, it didn't work so well. Hopefully we have it figured out going forward. We played with great energy the whole game, everyone did their role, they always made the extra pass and played as a team on both ends of the floor. Also, for some reason we had weak side cutters yesterday and the interior passing worked well with that. We hadn't see much of that. Anyway, given the amount of energy we like to use on defense, I hope the staff sticks with using more guys so they can go balls to the wall on that end of the floor.
