Rhoads Unis

If I were to make some quick inexpensive changes, I'd do these:
1.Gold stripe on the helmet
2.White or gold facemask instead of grey (to differentiate from USC)
3.Put names on jerseys.

If I were to do a more expensive overhaul:
1.Put white stripes between the stripes on the shoulders and the pants.

I'd be happy with the gold helmet stripe and the names on the jerseys.

I think we could do a cool and slightly unique thing with the pants. It would be patterned after the look of the Cinncinnati Bearcats. Convert the slashes on their pants to a Cyclone/Tornado look along the outside where there are stripes now.

What does anybody else think about this idea?

I know, I know. Uniform thread. But now is the time that changes are made, and honestly i wouldn't be surprised if SOMETHING was tweaked by PR just a little.

if you want a tweak that makes it even more ISU and not USC (besides the fact that we copied our own 1978 home unis) then how about red on red. Throw those red pants on and we are right back to Mac's clear preference and USC doesn't do that so there you go.

For those of you who hate the "yellow" helmets: did you hate our throwback uni's against EIU as well? I thought they looked bad-***. Wish we could just stick with those. Dallas wears white jerseys at home. Doesn't LSU as well to an extent?

I agree with others who think the yellow helmets look good with white jerseys, but not the cardinal ones. ISU needed permission from Iowa in order to wear our white throwback jerseys at home. Unless we're going to ask for permission every time, I don't think you'll see us wearing white jerseys at home.

The uniforms are fine. We need to stop this madness of changing everything every 5 years.

The logo I was talking about:

The best option IMO, would be to take this logo and change the white letters to yellow, and then put it on the yellow helmet. It would be real close to what we wore against Iowa two years ago, but with the current font. I likey!

I hope everyone realizes that the only changes that might happen with the uniform is the names and a change in shoe/sock color. Everything else is committed for 2009.

Doesn't the home team always have the choice of their uniform colors?

This uniform thread kills me. We're worse then a bunch of women worrying about prom dresses.(sorry ladies, but that's the first thing that came to mind.)

Something I've always thought would look cool is something similar to Michigan, where we'd have a cyclone pattern running from the front of the helmet to back... here's a real quick photoshop job of what I'm talking about:

Might look good if I were to smoke crack every day.

you guys are homers. new helmets are solid. wait 5 years and you'll get to ***** about the changes they make then.

names can some times take away from a "team" effort. real fans dont need the names because they know by position and number. learned that the hard way.

yes, yes it does. Damn it. you have a point. but im still leaning against the idea. if rhoads said yes, id agree. til then

Or, some of our compadres here are confident with their masculinity and independent to the point they will discuss whatever topic suits them.

Certain topics are suitable only for women? That's a constriction (and a blatant stereotype) that many here will sweep aside and not give a second thought.
