Rhoads has interest in coaching Wisconsin?

Re: Rhoads has intrest in coaching Wisconsin?

Interesting quote from Alvarez on Twitter "I don't see us as a spread offense. We can't recruit those guys consistently. You know the plan - starts w/ big palookas up front." Paul has insisted he run the spread as he hates game planning for it himself. I just dont see him taking this job with Alvarez breathing down his neck, I am sure BB felt like Alvarez second guessed a lot of his decisions since is the former coach there.

Not surprising at all, keep the same offense they've run since 1990 and been very successful with. There are great OL to be found in the upper midwest and Wisconsin has been great at holding onto them

Rose Bowl for Wisconsin isn't impressive this season. Although a BCS bowl, 7-5 does not make you a good football team, especially considering the talent in the B1G this year. Ohio State is the only BCS caliber team in that conference at the moment. Baylor is 7-5 in a better conference. What if they were in the Rose Bowl?? :twitcy:

If OSU would have played Michigan's schedule they would have had two losses as well which makes them not BCS caliber. They did go undefeated but the schedule was damn easy for them. It's too bad Robinson got hurt the Nebraska game and Gardner wasn't prepared to take over at the time. I would say Michigan and OSU were about equal as far as what they could do on the field this year.

Wow Pollard's comments concern me.
He sounds like a guy mad at Wisconsin
He sounds like he is worried Rhodes is going to Wisconsin

You might want to learn how to spell the coach's name before you start speculating on anything.

And would do very well here (not to derail such a wonderful thread)

Re: Rhoads has intrest in coaching Wisconsin?

I doubt Wisconsin has contacted anyone yet. Bielema leaving was completely out of the blue and Alvarez is going to coach in the bowl game. That's a really solid job, I don't think Alvarez fills it immediately. Crist makes the most sense for continuity and staff sake. Alvarez isn't going to bring in the latest "hot" coach. Being a coach he knows what he wants and it likely won't change much.

Did you listen to the entire interview?

Re: Rhoads has intrest in coaching Wisconsin?

He said he'd be happy if other schools wanted Rhoads - it would mean he's a good coach and others think that too - ultimate form of flattery. That was it in a nutshell.

If you have a hot girlfriend then you should be happy guys hit on her - not scared. That seems to be Pollard's approach to Rhoads. Pollard also said they are working together - key word, together - to build Iowa State into a program the fans love and support and we have success. I think they are very much on the same page.
