Rewatched games this year

Yeah, I only watched the ISU game, so hard to say. Teams tend to be pretty chippy when they think they are good and they are getting their butts kicked, and they were definitely getting kicked around the field.
Watching the Fiesta Bowl and how much the Ducks were yapping it was like the 5 stages of grief as the game went on.

Denial-no way they are better then us we just shoved the ball down their throats

Anger-oh hell no they think they can keep up

Bargaining-ok so they are scoring at will but our back QB is moving the ball.

Depression-we are getting our asses kicked

Acceptance-we can't stop them and we can't score. Not much we can do let's just get the game over with.

Just finished that WV game, watched the field storming and had this conversation.

My Old man: hopefully we get to see more that this year.
Me: nope. We are expected to win all those now.
Old man: True.... they will be storming it on us.

*both of us looked at each other for about 5 seconds*

me: wow...... that’s a weird thought.

we’ve come along way boys. A long, long way.

I hope we never stop storming the field for big wins. One of the weirdest things about last year was you know we would have stormed the field after the Oklahoma win and everyone would have stuck around for an hour just soaking everything in. Instead, all 15,000 of us exited the stadium in an orderly fashion.

The second half of the WV game this year felt odd at the end as well because of the same thing.

A little different because it was a blowout (and the Oklahoma game came down to a game saving interception with a minute left). But, yes, after the games was when it felt so weird. During the games, it kind of felt normal.

If you want to take a trip down memory lane, here is the 2017 game vs #4 TCU as seen from the sky cam with raw audio (no announcers). Kind of fun to see the game from that angle. The audio also gives the feel that you are at Jack Trice.

Thanks for sharing! What a great way to watch a game! Wish they were all available from that perspective.

The sky cam with the Turpin kick return was a thing of beauty. They also had the same cam angle with Kene's kick return against Oklahoma last year. Wish they would use that camera more on kick returns.

I've been all about this when they have the 'Control Room' view on another ESPN channel during some games.

I would absolutely love it if they gave this kind of view as an option on ESPN3 or something all the time.

Besides the interesting view and the real game feel, eliminating the inane commentators is an added bonus!

X1000. I say it over and over: you generally don't need announcers for games any more with how little they actually talk about the game.

This view gives the real perspective of how hard it really is for a QB to make a throw, why a play got blown up, coverages, etc.

It will be interesting to see if the 3 TE become become an ISU mainstay. It definitely has advantages and makes the Cyclones a very physical, punishing team.

I think the 3 TE set is going to be around a lot, but ISU is going to mix in some big physical WRs with Shaw and Scates and Jackson, much like we saw with Lazard, and Butler.

If ISU becomes known around the country as a "3 TE set" team, that means only 1 WR on the field. WR recruits won't be drawn to that.

It's better to actually develop a good O-Line, then we can still have a jump ball offense with two tight ends that are both 6' 8".
As long as the WRs are producing, the recruits won't care I'm sure. Hutchinson put up some pretty good numbers last year.

This angle on those Montgomery runs make them so cool. There is no way he should have gotten as many yards as he did on any one of those.
