SO... It's one scouts opinion.. But if Will McDonald gets a 3rd round grade for 2022. Do we start having conversations of him returning?

He can definitely get drafted. The question is does he want to come back and get drafted higher next year. He battled injuries this year, last year he was mostly a pass rushing specialist. He could turn into a first round pick next year with a little more size and more every down experience. At least second round pick if not first next year. Plus this might be the deepest draft ever with all the guys who returned for a free Covid year.
You can only play 4 years lol. The year he didn’t play was the free year that didn’t count towards eligibility. You had to have played that season to qualify for the free Covid year.
The kicker from Harlan broke all of Billy Cundiff’s school records and had 62 touchbacks this year as a Junior.
The easiest way to understand the rule is 2020 did not count. You had 4 to play 5, 2020 was simply a bonus year if you played.
I'm hearing rumblings in Ames from a current player.. I think Cyclone Nation needs to start processing the idea that Will McDonald is more likely to come back for 2022 than enter the NFL draft this coming Spring.

That was awesome to see the other way for a change. Hope he finds what he is looking for with us. ISU is a special place and his family could possibly see him play a little more there too. Yeah!
Kind of crazy with all the LB defections. Seems to me a few possibilities:
- Would Rose or Vance consider coming back?
- If Will McDonald comes back, does the staff play him at OLB in a 3-3-5 defense.
- Is the staff thinking about a shift to a 4-2-5 defense?
- Have Marshall, Mendeszoon and/or Ralph passed Davis or Horne by? Over the last couple recruiting cycles it appears the staff is bringing in 6'3"+ LB's.
