Remaining Schollies....Whats left....

Luckily these visits will occur when its warming up....
I have Hewitt as a priority. DL is always tough for us to recruit, and we will need more of them if we go away from the 3 man front. Virginia tech is after him, historically, that is good enough for me. We don't need any moe db's, and wr and RB would be a low priority to me, given what we have returning.

Two frosh DL in one class, that would be good (understatement).

I've been wondering, how many of the December JC signees can/will count on last year's class? Is it as simple (NCAA, probably not) as the number of open scholarships to start the second semester?

Interesting nugget on Hewitt........last year Toledo signed a DT from the same school (shows up on their roster as FR)......assume this staff has been on this kid for some time so they have had time to evaluate the kids development and progress

Sorry if I missed in another thread. Has anyone done the breakdown of guys already under scholarship plus commitments to come up with where we are at number-wise? Seems like we're going to blow by the original number thrown out for available schollys. Fine with that. Just means a little spring purging.

Don't remember for sure, but I'm pretty sure current commits plus Jahlas and Fett would put us a couple over available already. With all of the visits, I think they take 5-10 more. Definitely some attrition coming. The extent should be clearer in the next couple weeks.

Wouldn't surprise me if we took 10-12 more.

There are prob 20-30 kids on scholly that shouldn't be honestly. Time to clean house.

Looks like we had an in-home visit with Solomon Kindley this past week. He would be a great add. Very athletic big man.

Campbell likes to pull offensive linemen including the center. Therefore linemen who can move will become important.

The Bailey twins would be a huge get also. It will be tough to get Kindley or the twins, but it is a good sign we are still pursuing them.

I just love that Campbell is concentrating so heavily on OL and DL. He knows that is where football games are still won and lost.

He's already went heavily after some DB's to help defend the Big 12 offenses, and he now says he will only be going after OL and DL the rest of the way. I love that!

It would be a pleasant surprise if we could still land 10-12 Big 12 level football players at this point but that's just not likely.

That would be awesome but probably late as you suggest. There is not much difference between allot of the 3 and 4 star guys. Diiferent services penalize those who don't attend their events and pad the ratings of those guys who do. Some kids can't afford the expense to travel to these events. Other kids poor parent use their credit cards to get their kid to events so they can get rated. This system has some very corrupt parts that need cleaned up. Also staffs try to influence these ratings somewhat depending on their commits. ANYWAY....I can assure you that Campbell would pass up a four star rated kid if he thought a three star rated kid better fit his program. I guess, I'm saying, he would pick the kid he [ISU staff] had rated higher for their system.
