Remaining Schedule

I think the games in bold are winnable, but also should be able to win at Colorado, as long as we play a complete game, and at Missouri, if they still are having problems? Don't know how long Hannah is out.

I agree with this post. I was not impressed at all with Colorado today and I wasn't all that impressed with Mizzou, especially if Hannah's not back (he's out 4-6 weeks from what I have heard). In a wildly optimistic world I think we have a shot against Oklahoma if we play the game of our season. The rest I feel are out of reach unless the opposing team has a meltdown and we shoot lights out.

All i want is a 500 record in the big 12 that will get us our winning record and show good improvement over last year and NIT bid is always possible because of our fan support.

Well ok, Hannah is more than likely out indefinitely. I'd be surprised if Butterfield sees the court again after beating his girl and now this, at least I hope so. Mike needs to send a message, MU is out of control. The other three, I guess I could see them coming back.

However, Hannah is the spark of MU and I'll be surprised with any more games that they win

Hannah is out indefinitely. All indefinitely means is the amount of time he will miss is not known for sure. Now if he were out DEFINITELY for 6 weeks then we would know something.

@ Nebraska
vs. Texas A&M
vs. Texas
@ Oklahoma
vs. Nebraska
@ Texas Tech
vs. Kansas
@ Colorado
@ Missouri
vs. K-State

6-4 for the rest of the season, and the maybe steal a few in the tournament.

You're right I misspoke. Hannah is more than likely out for the rest of the regular season

I have us with 4 more wins maybe 5 if Wes is healthy. How is everyone counting Texas as a win?? Augustin??
wins Neb,Neb,Col,Mizzou, maybe TT

After beat-downs from KU and KSU - the wheels were coming off.

After a home win against a 1-win conference foe, very optimistically we could go 8-2. Gotta love the ride...

Weeeeee!

Seriously...finishing 8-2 isn't optimistic - it would be a damn miracle. Especially with Wes out an undetermined period of time.

AGREE. And @CU and @MU will be challenges with Wes!
We should play with every team besides KU... how many times we get beat down @KU and play them tough in Hilton... Get some hilton magic for more games that just KU and we will be in games with ranked teams such as Texas A&M, Texas and K-State

Go State

What is our best non-conference win? ok, Purdue is starting to look better, but that is marginal and the only one. We would need a number of overwhelming performances from here on out, and a good finish in the conference tournament to sway the committe that we deserve to be in. Pretty much a pipe dream at this point.

8-2!! I want what your having!!

We scored 15 points in the first half against the worst team in the Big 12. Our best offensive player just re-injured his foot. We still have games against KU,KSU, Tex, A&M, and a healthy OU team. If we go 6-4, I will feel ever so confident that McDermott is the right man for the job.

Does anyone realize we just beat a Big 12 team (ok a bad one) with 3 walk ons playing a lot of minutes? Not a lot of teams could pull that off. I think that is a testament to the great job Coach and his assistants are doing with these players

And, perhaps a little, because of the opponent. But, I don't wish to discredit too much.

In my mind, 4 more wins is realistic. 5 wins is optimistic, and anything above that is a total miracle.

It was one of the better coaching jobs I've seen in awhile. We not only beat them with 3 walk on caliber guys, we blew them out in the second half. If McDermott can improve his recruiting we'll all be in for a helluva ride. We aren't that far away as it is.

This may be the worst thread I have ever seen. If we got 8-2, I sell my car and I go to whatever dump they have for a tourney game. NIT is what I have my heart set on!!!

I think that tonight was still not bad considering that Wesley was out. Looking at scores from other games you would think that theoretically we should be at least competitive in all of the rest of the games with the exception of KU and KSU. If Wes gets better I would argue that we even have a shot against them at home.

without wes... idk. should get colorado again and nebraska twice, missouri looks more winnable after the 5 suspensions and stephon hannahs injury but we are goin to have to pull some upsets, without our best player most likely to get into the tourney

I hope we get four more to finish a 7-9. That would be an improvement over last year and with the injuries, defections, NCAA screwjobs, and the youth I would be happy with that. I predicted 6-10 again before conference play, and barring Wesley being out for a while I think four more is doable.

You must not know how the NIT works anymore. They no longer pick teams based on financial gain. They use RPI to pick NIT teams, just like they do for the NCAA teams.
