Release: SCHEMATIC DESIGNS FOR SOUTH END ZONE PROJECT RELEASED

I'd rather we make a unique, modern look than try and compete using the same materials against schools with much more money backing.
I agree. Another thing, if one were designing a "door to the university" glass is a good medium. It gives the feeling of being open, inviting, and look here.

Am I the only one who, when I see the word schematic can't quit thinking of

I was unaware they couldnt put speakers anywhere else.

That would effectively double the size of that video board, I doubt they are going to pony up the cash for a 5800 sq ft board out of nowhere. Two 2800 foot boards and a rumored ribbon board should be plenty to keep the place rocking really hard.

I don't really care what the facade is but I really want one that goes around the whole stadium.

The big question is, what's going to happen to the old scoreboard/videoboard? This was Bruce VDV's shining achievement as an ad IIRC. Save it for the museum we will eventually have in his honor someday?

Bruce VDV......what a joke. He would take the big donation from the Reiman's and have the Athletic Department pocket the money rather than make any improvements. That hire set our Athletic Department back a bunch.

Why not? They are being displaced. Give them a shot first. How many of those $175 season ticket holders do you expect to take the jump to paying $750 each PLUS the required donation to sit in those seats?

Pretty safe to say that there will be plenty of End Zone Club seats after they purchase theirs if they wish.

Has anything specific been said about options other than the endzone club? Or are they waiting until after the initial push for the endzone club before they disclose lower price options.

The sad thing about the history of Jack Trice is I remember when that new scoreboard was put in when I was college, how HUGE of an upgrade it was over the previous one.

Wasn't there talk a few years ago about using it at the track & field facility?

Haven't heard much. But IMO, the visitor section will pushed south to the lower and upper wedge areas in the SW corner of the stadium. And the upper and lower wedge areas in the SE corner will be at the lower price points like the End Zone seats were in all likelihood. Hillside seats likely remain the same price on the north. Not sure what the donation level will be for the End Zone Club at this time. But it appears to be $750 per season ticket. 3,000 seats in that area. Contrast that with the Jack Trice Club which requires a $5,000 donation per year allowing one to purchase up to 4 tickets at $1,500 apiece and a 3 year commitment. The Jack Trice Club includes adjacent parking to the stadium with the Cyclone Club donation.

All in all, there are additional tickets available now which will be reserved seating. IMO those in the End Zone wanting cheaper seats will be pushed to the wedge areas. And there will be a push to market those $750 tickets. Not sure what type of donation they will require, but keep in mind that they have 3,000 of those to market.

I'm hoping with the easy access location of the new club section that they will use it as a restaurant/meeting facility the rest of the year. I have a buddy that lives in Tallahassee and the Doak has a restaurant up in it that we've eaten in. I know my company has a meeting for all our associates several times a year around the state and a space overlooking JTS would be much better than a hotel ballroom.

Potentially stupid question, but:

Does anyone think the Vikings & Chiefs would ever consider having a preseason game in Jack Trice? I would definitely go, & I'm a fan of neither.

Flame away.

OMG what a STUPID question. WHY would you ever ask something so DUMB? Can someone ban him?

Me too! And I remember when my family visited for a game and pointed out how cool it was with the "shake your keys" graphics and things like that.

The chiefs should have to for the KSU/ISU games we played on their turf...it's only fair.
