Release: SCHEMATIC DESIGNS FOR SOUTH END ZONE PROJECT RELEASED

I think it looks great and will be a really nice upgrade to Jack Trice Stadium. Now if they could get a new big pressbox and new/repainted seats JTS would look really damn nice. 61k seems perfect for seating.

Major improvement, I wished they hadn't used the airplane hanger (Jacobson Bldg) for design inspiration though. I was hoping for more brick/stone etc. I'm sure it will look nice though.

I was hoping for less seats and a more impressive enclosed masonry/glass building structure visible from both inside and from the south. This drawing shows the south entrance to be mostly a concrete concourse

Am I the only one disappointed in the design? I was really hoping for something that integrated better with the curved sideline portions of the stadium. The wedges of seating that form the transitions from the SEZ seating to the sidelines don't do it for me. I was expecting to see something more fluid and more similar to the schematic design that was released in '08. I understand the need for the club seating and the monster video board and they need to be worked in somehow also, but the overall package should be considered.

Now, don't get me wrong. I'm thrilled that the project is approved and moving forward. It has been years in the making, but I'm a bit disappointed in the design.

Yes.

So you wanted less functionality and more aesthetics. Makes sense for an athletic department that isn't very wealthy...

The new south entrance seems to match nicely the view of the Jacobson Building from inside the stadium.

There is glass on the north and south sides of the building to view the football field and the garden. Its really more glass than concrete. Youre just trying to find something wrong with it. This is perfect for ISU.

Sorry if this has been asked already, but will there be a website dedicated to the progress & development of the SEZ? TCU had a virtual tour of their renovation. I believe KSU & Baylor have something similar as well.

Anyone else remember when JTS looked like this? I think my car is out there in the lot.
"All the way to Lincoln Way!"

BTW - That was game day Walden's last year.

The color of the benches without seatbacks looks faded even back then!

Wonder why release says says South endzone video board is similar to North endzone board. When it is actually nearly twice the size:
150'x36 verses 79.5'x36'.
Twice the size of the current board will be massive!

The bridge/tunnel is just a rumor I've heard.

As of airier this year it was more than just a rumor. It was coming from a pretty good source if I remember correctly

Now of course since then they may have changed the plans and maybe they are still in the plans or not, but as of that point someone posted here that they heard that either bridges or tunnels were being planned (as in more than one, possibly 3).

The source was good and the poster was credible.
