Recruits & Transfers

Mizzou has to be the initial leader in his recruitment right? Also you gotta feel bad for Cal Bap, lost Gaitan before the school year and now they're losing Messenbrink
He would likely qualify for an Olympic redshirt and so wouldn’t lose a year behind Carr. But ideally he’s a 57.

I can’t believe it wouldn’t be a major sales point to have the chance to train with David for a year. Not to mention Paniro too. And god knows we need an upgrade at 57.

In the least surprising news this year, we all knew this was coming at some point. I was thinking about this a couple of weeks ago and thought ISU would be absolutely perfect for him… outside of him being a 65 after David leaves and competing against his buddy O’Toole for the title and inner conference.

What would this mean for Ferrari's situation (if we are truly in on him)?
There's about a two year age difference. Otherwise, I believe Ferrari is considered a top blue chip and is projected to be at 165.

Messinbrink would be an absolutely awesome fit, but of course that's going to be the case for a LOT of programs. His recruitment will be interesting and curious how much Askren (Mizzou) influence there will be.

Can the RTC, NIL wrestlers? It's not considered part of Iowa State's AD is it?
Yes. One of the reasons wrestling at ISU and as a whole was set up perfectly for the NIL era. We essentially already had our own collective. And Dresser is very good at fundraising.

In this interview he talks about some of the fundraising he did while a HS coach in Virginia. Really eye-popping numbers.
