RECRUITING: Thik Bol information

I disagree there. He's at the same level and has a bit more speed and athleticism. I like this guy, but it seems I'm alone on this one.

Yes, Bol has a lot more film, so if you 're comparing apples to apples (juco tape vs juco tape), I'm not sure how you could say he's behind Edozie. Edozie didn't even play much and his team wasn't nearly as good as IWCC. The only Edozie film I could find back then was him working on drills in a practice setting.

Edozie's only other offer was from Minny and they pulled that after watching him. This kid at least has WSU and a couple of others after him.

That Edozie highlight tape was the worst highlight package ever. It had highlights of him missing free throws and elbow jumpers.

Yes, Edozie with his 0 total other offers was clearly better than a guy with Wichita St. offer and Maryland/Nebby watching him play.

Looks more like McKay to me. I don't know what these other guys are seeing.

Murray St and a desperate WSU? Bfd.
Edozie's utility transitioned better. Bol's potential will get him more offers but he is not at Edozies juco level and I don't see him actualizing much of that potential.

That's 2 more offers than Edozie had and there's still time. I don't think their situations are that different, a big body to fill a role if needed since we've always lacked frontcourt depth.
 
If Bol is the best center that we can possibly recruit this year, then I guess the staff will offer him. If they think that there is possibly somebody more talented, then they will probably tell him to wait around for a while.
 
He looks athletic enough and moves his feet on D. Why waste a scholly on Ashton next season? If he can't sniff the court this year he won't next for sure. I think our guards will be doing most of the scoring so gets some bigs who can defend and rebound.

Regarding Ashton....what are the rules on awarding scholarships to walkons now? When Prohm was asked about Jordan getting the scholarship this fall, he mentioned that the rules have changed or will change. I took that to mean that it might not be as easy to go back and forth between walk on and scholarship. Prohm also said that the previous staff and promised him a scholarship if they didn't have a full roster by the fall. Prohm didn't exactly seem like that was what he would want to do, but obviously he had to.

I think he plays like Jameel does now but Jameel's a juco was a much different player, he didn't even play in the post due to IHCC pressing (and having 3 or 4 other d1 post recruits) the entire game, he played at the front of the press and was more or less a "3". I've seen Bol a lot the last 2 years in person, he's not nearly the athlete that Jameel is but is much more of a true post defender and finishes well around the bucket. Last season, I would have said he was a one trick pony that probably couldn't hack it in the big 12 (bc of a lack of offense), this year he's much improved, especially on the offensive end.

If he played in a system that was a little more post friendly he could be putting up better numbers, IWCC plays almost like we do, they have 3 really good shooters that have the green light and do a great job spacing the floor, most of Bol's touches come off of him being active, running the floor, rebounds etc...
 
Why does everyone think we don't have a scholarship available? Ashton only has one because there was one available. He's not guaranteed one for next year as Prohm has said multiple times.
 
as someone pointed out lard is left off and ashton is on. Id like to think we can wait for a transfer big who can play immediately, Id also be okay with a regular transfer but that doesnt help us next year. If monte stays our team is set unless someone transfers out.
