RECRUITING: Post Morrow visit update

But what about the other options the staff has been working on for many, many months? Or are you hinting the staff doesn't have any other options?

My guess is the staff is able to field a full team next year despite a few guys not wanting to play for us and the end result will be a team that is much better than the sum of its parts.

I don't really care who doesn't come to ISU, I'm way more into watching the staff mold a brand new team with a brand new identity with the players that want to be Cyclones. Can't wait to watch the new guys find their way and grow as men and as basketball players.
You don't care about the mystery 6-10 guy?

If you think Morrow is a home run, he's probably an extra base hit.

Imo we already have Kasongo, so I don't see the need. He's likely to end up better than that imo, and he seems like a possible grad transfer after two years at a mid-major.

Kasongo played spot minutes at Tennessee when Jacobsen was starting at Nebraska. I think the difference between the two is significant, and I'd be surprised if Jacobsen didn't have multiple high-major options.

Any chance JL plays a little SF? He's 6'5"

Talking about positions by using SG or SF is so silly. You've got a PG, two wings, and two big men, preferably with one of the big men being able to stretch the floor. This obsession on this board with the traditional 1 through 5 position numbers is so odd to me.

Who was the "SF" last year? Naz or Matt? It doesn't matter. They were both wings. They guarded other wings. It's all matchups.

You have amazing insights into the mysterious world of basketball. Can you tell us more?

I think the 1-5 stuff helps us describe players. It doesn't matter so much on the court, but helps us simplify what a player is. I think, in reality, the best way to describe a player is by saying what positions he can defend, because players' offensive games can be really unique.

When I say small forward I mean who is guarding the bigger wing

Yes, it's realistic that Jacobsen is significantly better than Kasongo. I'd take him over Kasongo, but will probably need Ray this year.

Does anybody else miss the days when recruits would make snap decisions after a visit rather than evaluating all of the data and making a thoughtful choice?
Remember when most p5 coaches thought the transfer market wasn't a legitimate way to help build a team?

By the way, have we ever had a recruit visit and the follow up report from the staff/media isn't that everything went well?

Hopefully we get this guy. That Jacobson kid in the video posted above seems like a decent bench guy, too. Have we shown any interest?

I think Jacobsen would be a great off the bench guy but it's his intangibles beyond abilities is why I like him. Hard working with a positive attitude can be very infectious for the rest of the team. I'd much rather have him over most Jucos. He's a solid known that hasn't begun to tap his own potential......and he's big. We've got plenty of schollys and will have more next year to fill the gaps IMO.
