RECRUITING: Post Morrow visit update

Working the phones on the Ed Morrow visit and here's what I have learned:

--- No commitment this weekend. Still has visits to Pitt and Xavier scheduled. Went to Marquette last weekend.

--- Sounds like it will be between Iowa State and Marquette, but who knows if the Pitt/Xavier visits change that. There is a theory out there that he could cancel those visits too.

--- Just from the sound of things, I'd call Iowa State the favorite right now but Marquette is a very real contender. The others seem more like long shots.

I hope he ends up at Iowa State. I thought we would get some other guys, besides Shayok. Not getting my hopes up too much.

Shayok and Morrow would be a home run combination for next year. Finish it off with a couple to play this year, and I think it's been a great off-season.

Guess it's not official but CW mentioned on podcast and I've read on 2 pay sites that ISU isn't really a player in his recruitment.

Starting to feel more and more that we'll need TL to step up right away. He's good for 10-15 mpg at SF I hope.

Yeah Alstork isn't happening. Not exactly sure on what went down but he won't be at ISU next year.

Maybe Marquette convinced him that Hauser will play the 3. I'm not so sure. It's encouraging we have a good shot.

Not getting Juiston was a killer gut-punch IMO.

With Alstork out, if Brown doesn't pick ISU, I really do think next year is officially a rebuilding year that fans need to be prepared for. Will be fun to watch the kids develop but could be a rough go.

Think the staff will keep going down their list of grad transfers if they miss on Brown or will they start focusing on sit outs / banking for mid years?

Recruiting is a rough business. No wonder Fred disliked it. I couldn't do it. Put so much time and effort into a kid like Juiston. Prohm drives to see him immediately after winning in Lawrence. Then he makes a decision that makes absolutely no sense.
