Even if we play small ball we still need at least 1 PF per class. At times you need 2 bigs in the lineup so you need 3 that are good to go and we shouldn't have to count on in coming Freshman or be caught short handed if someone leaves early or is shown the door. I bet the 2013 class will have a big most likely smeone like Niang that can step out.
nice little article here and I do think our last schollie for next year will be a guard and I would wager on a transfer!

Still pretty early on those 2013 guys. I'll do some digging.

Chris, Willie Cauley is a big guy we just recently offered. He measured out at 7-1 1/4 and 221 lbs at the recent Nike Skills Academy. He's the shot blocker we could use. Supposed to be very raw, but very long and very athletic. Just scratching his potential, needs to learn how to play hard. 2012 prospect from Olathe, KS. top50 rivals kid
Damn!? Didn't know we were chasing Cauley. Would be a nice piece compliment to our guards/ wings.
If we really are going after Cauley, that would be great. Our bigs might potentially depleted by that time. I think Percy will be a good addition, but that is still to be seen. Also, he could be a replacement for Railey, who is just straight awful.
Tough to call a freshman big straight awful. Name the last 5 we had who really impressed you his first year.
I will call him awful as well. The kid has very little athletism, and his knowledge of the game is lacking to say the least. He is consistently in the wrong position, not too mention out of shape.
He has good size and a nice shot but that's not enough to be Big 12(10) caliber. Godfrey, Wesley Johnson, Brackins, Vroman, even Hamilton showed good skill as freshman.

Ya i realized that after typing as I was refering to his first year here, I was going to add Mike Taylor as well.
How about sub in Stinson and Blalock. I remember being psyched after their freshman year over the fact that we may have 3 more years of them together. Planty of Freshman come in and provide hope by showing solid skill, Railey doesn't do that for me...sorry buddy, Hope you prove me wrong.
Guards are usually able to adjust faster to the college game than bigs. This is pretty common knowledge, but knowledge doesn't appear to be your forte. Railey showed some promise last year. I think he had good instincts on the defensive end, but didn't seem to understand he can't throw his body wherever he pleases. When he learns to use his length instead of trying to gamble and make the spectacular play, he could be a solid defensive post. I'm not saying he will ever be all-conference, but I think he could be a starter by the end of his career.
