RECRUITING: Madison Wise in town this weekend

Madison's team, Greenfield Central, plays my daughter's high school team and they are also in our sectional so I have seen her play several times. Madison is a beast of a player. She is very skilled for her size. Very high basketball IQ. He can shoots the three really well and can also post up a smaller player. I personally think her biggest asset is her competitiveness. She is relentless on both offense and on defense. If she is in the game, she is playing hard.

In our sectional, Madison's team was playing a Mt Vernon team lead by Sydney Shelton who originally committed to Kentucky but is now going to Butler. Shelton is as good of a shooter as you will ever see in girls basketball. Her range is unbelievable. (google "sydney shelton amazing" as evidence). In the 2016 sectional game, Madison matched up with her for much of the game and totally shut her down. Madison was clearly the better player.

Madison would be a great addition.

Here is a video from the 2016 4A regional (biggest class).

A good sign?

I'm convinced now that that's an understatement. :)

Yes, this is true. I didn't think the AAU video did her justice. She plays on the perimeter and facilitates her high school teams offense a lot of the time even though her team has a Ball State commit at PG. She also plays the point in their half court trap.

My daughter and I watched a lot of the Indiana girls tourney games all the way up to the Championship games. The only player that I saw that I thought was better than Madison was a 2016 UCLA recruit that knocked Madison's team out in the regional. Even then, they were pretty evenly matched.

One of Indiana's top prospects will be on her second visit to Ames. This one is officially but she also attended the elite camp earlier this summer.

Offers from: Kentucky, DePaul, Arkansas, Pitt, Illinois, Michigan State and more.

Any update on her visit?

Word out of Indianapolis is that our Cyclones are still very much in the mix for Madison. Apparently this 6'1 "Point Forward" has a very high b-ball I.Q., is long and athletic, and has a non-stop motor. She can play numerous positions on both ends of the floor. Also extremely unselfish and a team player to a fault. Got ISU written all over her. Ran across this video:

She would be a great addition at Iowa State. Very dominating player. She plays hard all the time, she would be a great fit with CBF.

Remember that is the 2017 class we already have Scott and Johnson, the number 1 and 2 players in the class out of Minnesota, and add Wise to that and that would be a great class.

Do we have two or three schollies left for 2017?

I have never seen a HS girls bball player with range like that, or I should say, that has the confidence to pull up on some of those shots. Crazy.

I take it that you are talking about the "Sydney Shelton amazing" video I mentioned. I was there in person. It was the most amazing shooting display that I have ever seen. It was crazy.
