RECRUITING: A couple notes for 12-13-17

Tanner Lee is a junior and I doubt he goes pro.
Tanner Lee is actually a 5th year junior who has already been granted a 6th year. Three years at Tulane (played 2, redshirt 1), sat out transfer year at Nebraska, played one year at Nebraska. Frost doesn't want to start over in year 2, so Lee isn't expected to be the guy next year. I expect him to test the grad transfer market.

But Tanner Lee does not fit into coach Scott Frost's offense so he will almost certainly be riding the pine next season. That is unless Frost strikes out on bringing in a good dual-threat QB transfer or Freshman. He is not going to waste a year trying to get Tanner Lee to adapt to Frost's style of play.
Frost just landed his 4 star dual threat QB this afternoon. Has to help our chances with Duggins.

Early enrollment, dual threat for Scott Frost's offense -- Tanner Lee won't fit and will go pro, this guy could start this year.

Lee go pro..lol Maybe in the CFL. Martinez had surgery for a torn labrum in throwing shoulder I believe. Very difficult to come back from.

Well at least declare for the draft, I'm not promoting him up, just reporting what I read :)

Per this article I forgot to link, Martinez-2.0's shoulder is healed (he sat out his SR year, acted as an asst coach) and his could have played end of this HS season but held out for upcoming college Spring practice:

He plans to sign Dec. 20, enroll early at NU and try to win the starting job in spring practice. Martinez expects to play in the Under Armour All-America game Jan. 4, and Petrissans said Martinez wanted to play for Clovis toward the end of his senior season.

Doctors told him to hold off.

The point being that people earlier said NU would be competition for us in the grad transfer market, while this article makes it sound like they will use their returning underclassmen and incoming freshman for "fresh start" at QB in 2018, as opposed to getting through 2018 with Lee or a transfer and starting again in year 2.
