In the short-term, has there been any reaction from any recruits at the game?

Longer-term, this has to be HUGE for our recruiting abilities.

The exposure from this might swing a lot of those "on the fence" recruits. It looks like it from those tweets.

Whitver said on the reaction show last night that one of the things that will happen with recruiting is that guys who would never have taken a call from you before will talk to you now.

Doesn't mean you're going to have 5 start recruits knocking your door down, but it gets your foot in the door with some of them.

^^^This. Luckily for us, I think the biggest challenge is getting recruits to give ISU a chance. Once CPR and the staff get a chance to be taken seriously, they do a pretty good job of closing most of the time.

Take it for what it's worth, but I heard from a very credible source this afternoon that said we we received three commitments last night. We had six total recruits at the game, and things are looking really good for ISU for all of them. What a great game for future Cyclones to be at!

Pretty sure a couple there were already committed. Sounds good!

What I'll wonder about is not only how many visitors might have committed, but how many uncommitted players who didn't have us high on their list are now calling the staff asking for a chance to visit Ames...

Of course, much of the impact will presumably be on the signing class of '13, not this class.

For me what is huge is the fact that not only was this seen on national television, but that we are now bowl eligible, so when recruits come to visit they will not see an empty practice facility, but rather a team practicing for their bowl game...hopefully somewhere warm.

Hard to believe, but I wish we didn't have so many commits already just to see if it would have opened the door this year to move up a level talent wise.

One win does not all of a sudden make you the best destination for 4 and 5 star players. It helps you land the ones you were trying to get, and that can help lead to sustained success, which will start getting those kids interested.
