Recruit Lists v2.0

For those predicting Long to commit next week... The Norvell uptick in staff attention makes even more sense.

JL - “I’m still open to everyone right now, but I might cut my list of schools sometime during the high school season,†said the senior guard. “As of now I’m wide open and seeing what is on the table for me.â€

He doesn’t see himself committing to a program anytime soon as he is still seeing which schools he is most comfortable with.

“My final decision on a school will most likely come after my high school season,†he said. “By then I’ll see which coach I have the best relationship with and find the school I am most comfortable with.â€

Any recent links between us and Norvell? I know we visited him aa while back, any idea if a visit is in the works?

No date set but we visited again this week and Hines said that we are trying to set up a visit. Hopefully we can.

Also 247 needs to update the 2016 class recruiting board. Bc they don't have Jakolby Long or Zackary Norvell on there. They do though have Breein Tyree which will be committing somewhere other than ISU tommorow.

My point exactly. I have been all over the globe, been in the "real world". Some of these posters are talking smack about places they probably never been. lol There are pleasurable destinations aside from Ames, Iowa people..

Ever been to Austin?

I have been to every big 12 school. I am talking basketball wise. If i wanted to play football and texas or Oau offered i would be there. If basketball i would not give them the time.

I have been to multiple basketball games here as well, and it is true that it is second fiddle to football and they are lucky to fill 2/3 of their arena.

But it the campus and cities ( Austin and OKC) are amazing, as are the universities in general, so that plays in to decisions too

Smart COULD be the real deal - but there is no way I am putting him ahead of Lon until I see some proof at a P5 school. If you look at all the NBA talent that has come and gone from UT during Barnes' tenure, you know that recruiting will never be an i$$ue in Au$tin. Smart has a great chance to take the Longhorn$ to greater heights. If they don't do better than they have done in the past few years, it WON'T be because of lack of talent. If the state of Iowa had as much high D-1 talent as Texas, CFH would had likely made it to at least 2 FFs during his tenure. If Smart doesn't fit, the oil tycoons in the state will just try to throw more money at a higher-level candidate until they successfully lure a legend and are able to "buy" their championship.

A few years back a certain person was given the Nobel Peace Prize befoire he took office. It was hope. Similar to Smart. Let's see the product more before we expect miracles.

Theres like maybe 10 active coaches in America with a resume as impressive as Lon's...

why is minnesota always the last school to offer recruits that come from their own state? It seems like McKinley wright is a recruit that may blow up soon.
