Recruit Lists v2.0

Yep. Fred has managed to sign four 4* recruits in his tenure without much to sell in the way of results. Imagine what he'll be able to do once he gets a Sweet Sixteen or more under his belt.

Not to mention all the 4 star transfers (Royce and Mckay for example)

From the same high school. Think he is currently ranked #8 by rivals.

Prying him away from OSU would be way more impressive than getting Vaughn IMO.

Also Jerry Myles from Davenport I've heard is pretty good. He's 2016.

I think Clark is ours and we get a 5th year senior shooting guard who can hit the 3. Attrition occurs and we get Malou if he's available.

After what this program just went through with RV, did you really have to post that you think Clark "is ours". Man, that's just not right.

I'm struggling to understand what you mean by this. Are you angry with the way I worded it, or are you highly superstitious? Either way I apologize.

I would say about 75% of Cyclone fans knew RV wasn't our since last Thursday. I got a good feeling about Clark. He would get playing time as we are short at the 3, and Hoiberg is going to go hard to get the best that is on the market (in reality), and this late in the season, that is Marvin Clark.

Not angry. Nor superstitious. Guess it just hit me wrong. Look.... it wasn't speculation whatsoever that our staff thought they were really in a good place with Vaughn. Recruiting can change overnight, plus you're dealing with 18 yr old kids. Look what happened to Grandstaff for Okie State, as well. You don't have to apologize, but there's two things that really bother me that fans say...I think a recruit "is ours" , when in fact we have no verbal yet or no signed LOI, and another one is that "it will be hard to win at KState, but we 'should' win the rest". To me, they set themselves up, then look for someone to blame when it doesn't happen. Doesn't mean I have low expectations or lack optimism. I love our basketball program. I just think sometimes people don't realize just how difficult both recruiting and winning conference road games are. That's all. But I'm sure I'm just a little bummed from last night's performance and after last week's news of not getting RV. Appreciate the apology, though.

I posted this in another thread, but Hoiberg needs to stop worrying about SG's or SF's and get some legitimate size on this team. He has a great group of versatile guys between 6'2''-6'7'', but if you want to take the next step you need at least 2 guys in the 6'10'' range with size that can bang with other teams.

He is likely going to have to take them from the High School ranks and develop them as the JUCO or transfers don't happen often in that height range with players who have any talent. It will also be something that he needs to work his system around to get them minutes and develop.

I think if Iowa State can do that, then it could be a really scary team that plays well on the road.

Disagree 99%. Fred should go after legit big men, so he did and got McKay who can block shots and can score around the rim with a respectable jump shot. The need on next years team is a shooting guard. Not Kane 2.0, but McGee 2.0.

Out of all of them I bet we land Grandstaff and Johnson. Not too bad. Diallo would be outstanding, but he'll probably go to Syracuse or somewhere else on the east coast.
