Recruit Lists v2.0

Gonna have to get a transfer cause there are no more jucos or hs kids to go after. They are all committed, unless Fred finds some diamond in the rough no one has heard of.

PG: Morris and Custer
SG: Thomas and Long, SDW
SF: Nader
PF: Hogue, Niang, Percy
C: McKay, Edozie

hopefuly McKay can be eligible right away but I'm not holding my breath. McKay will be a stud. We are hearing and have seen Nader can shoot and will be great on the wing. It would be great to get M Clark and a stud transfer. Although if hoiberg can't find a stud transfer that will come in and start I think he will go after Clark and bank the other schoolie for 2015.

Only thing that scares me is our 2 spot next year. Would love to see a 5th year transfer take that spot but who knows.

Scary thing is we have no seniors starting in our lineup. (I think Niang starts over Hogue since Hogue can bring more energy off the bench)

I'd love to see Clark, an immediately eligible transfer, and a transfer to sit out next year (or Malou). I understand that that's 3 and we currently only have two scholarships, but I bet there's some attrition on the roster somewhere.

EDIT: I'm not sure if you meant this by your post or not, but there's no way Niang isn't a starter next year.

I'm very comfortable with Thomas starting, in fact I'm excited about it

We need more offense and spacing from our off guard next year. If Matt Thomas can't get it done, we need a 5th year transfer. If Fred is confident Thomas can get it done next year, we probably end up with Clark and a transfer that sits out next year.

Not to start a new mega thread but the staff is recruiting. VJ King out of Akron, OH for 2016. Comparisons being made to Lebron James.

Yeah, Niang is starting. Cubs couldn't have been serious about that.
Morris, Thomas, Nader, McKay & Niang.
Bench: Hogue, Naz, Custer
Extended Bench: SDW, Percy, Edozie
This would be my guess

This is really the first year during Fred's tenure that we have been in the national spotlight for the whole season. Do it again the next couple years and it becomes the norm to see ISU in the top 25/on national television. One of those teams that always seems to be talked about. Much easier to recruit the big names at that point.

Meh. We have two more years to improve our national brand.

A few keys for us to further our national brand:

-Go deeper in the tourney than the 2nd round

-Get someone drafted in the 1st round that actually makes an impact in the NBA

-Finish higher than 3rd-5th in the B12 and challenge KU for 1st

Yep. Fred has managed to sign four 4* recruits in his tenure without much to sell in the way of results. Imagine what he'll be able to do once he gets a Sweet Sixteen or more under his belt.
