Recruit Lists v2.0

Barnes is safe barring a meltdown. He's done a fabulous job this year. Buzz got nicked by a guy or 2 leaving early when it made no sense. He's safe as well.

Ford is safe due to the buyout as much as anything but anything can happen. He's certainly not the fans choice.

Serious question, as I have no idea, but what are the reasons for OSU's APR issues? Who has left, recently, in bad academic standards?

IIRC I saw on Orange Power but they've had McDermott level of players leave without finishing eligibility under Ford. I think there's been a total of 4 guys who have played 4 years for him.

I've read a little on Orange Power, too. Seems most are concerned with his massive buyout, which means no matter how far they fall, they are stuck with Ford until T-Bone opens the pocket book again.

I don't like that he's announcing on a Saturday. And that UNLV has a late night home game that day after which the UNLV players are probably going to hit the parties.

In general I don't have a great feeling about this. We've brought up many reasons why he should choose ISU over UNLV- better coaching, better competition, better chance for a national championship. But if he really cared about all that, UNLV wouldn't have made his top 2. Or top 5.

UNLV has something which has attracted RV until the very end. I don't want to assume it's money- no reason to believe that their program is any more or any less clean than ours. But they do have something that Rashad likes.

Guys have many reasons to include teams on lists. I don't believe they are always being seriously considered (see: Barnes, Harrison). I don't know if UNLV fits this description or not, but it is his current local team. Still think they're a strong possibility, though.

Might as well leave any ugly speculation until after Saturday...

At the same time though, what reason would there be to keep us on the list over another school. Every other school that isnt a hometown school on the list is high profile and then us. This logic isn't logical when you think about it because there could be a reason for going to every school.

Remember Cesar Gutierrez? What ever happened to him after he transferred from OSU.

Haha yeah my bad. Guerrero. He visited before picking OSU I believe. Was hyped a lot as a 4 star point guard. Maybe he got homesick since I think he's from California originally.

He visited Iowa and I don't believe ISU was involved.

Seems as if that ship has sailed, but who knows. Recruiting is a very funny game, but after you lose momentum, it's hard to get it back it seems.

I hope that we can land Marvin Clark.

CFH seems to be looking for a SF/PF combo for one of the schollys. Makes sense with Ejim graduating and Houge going into his senior year. (Nadir will be a Junior too.)
JC was/is the first option, Clark would be the next (maybe option one now?). First to commit would get that position filled for this class. Or if neither I'd expect CFH to look for a transfer with that skill set in May.
