Recruit Lists v2.0

#Cyclones Fred Hoiberg watched 2013 6'9" Emmanuel Malou (ABCD Academy, IA) & others last night in game vs Quakerdale Prep (IA) per Malou's coach. ABCD academy has another guy, Ivan Lukic who has some D1 interest. Also, Quakerdale Prep has several players which have D1 interest including 2014 Darrion Strong who attended the game vs Oklahoma.

Anyone heard more about this Emmanuel Malou? Is he still in Des Moines? His highlight video shows he is pretty raw but tall and very athletic. I'd take a waiver on him to develop his game. You can't teach heights and athletic big men are hard to come by. His dunks (albeit against inferior competition from this video) remind me of Cato.

Nothing against Mr. Malou, but what is this...a church pick up league?

Cyeathawk, I agree. However, this team does go and play a lot of Juco teams. So there are some videos of him out there from playing like Iowa Central. I have never tried to watch them.to be honest. Not only that but any team he plays in the DSM area is generally going to be against of 6 foot tall kids.

It's because he plays for a prep school, that really only exists in name only. I am guessing his problem will be related to academics. He's an Australian national, playing for a prep school located in Des Moines, that no one has ever heard of. Doubtful that he'll qualify when it comes down to it.

Unfortunately I think you are correct. ABCD was able to put a guy at James Madison last year that was a foreign player, but that doesn't mean his situation is the same as Malou's. He never had a recruiting profile either and didn't even show in their commit list, but he is there and is on the roster. I still think Fred takes two more recruits/transfers instead of one.

Yeah, they see better competition than most kids do. He needs a lot of coaching as he has basketball skills, but is not that skilled at basketball. Of course, many good recruits are like that and the he may be worth the risk if we have another couple rosters spot open up.

Ellenson.....will have to be alot of good teams for this guy, imo. Wonder if he has a "list"? Probably not.

A rivals guy that was watching Ellenson (vs Diamond Stone!) tweeted last night that UNC is now showing interest in Henry Ellenson.

the monster is goin to have his pick of schools.

Haven't seen video of some of the others (eg Illikainen) but Ellenson is about at the top of my list for who I hope for in that class.

Kain Harris ('15 SG) made nine - NINE - 3 pointers last night on 12 attempts. Had 33 points total.

Matt Thomas had games like that in high school too and we've all seen what he can do now that he's in college...so don't get too excited about it :jimlad:

6-6 wing Quevyn Winters of Indian Hills CC committed to Washington. ISU was looking at him. He went to one of our games and Doc went down to KC to watch him early in the season. IHCC committed players...

pg Lester Medford - Baylor
sg Roosevelt Scott - Arizona State
sf Queven Winters - Washington

Their best player, Roderick Bobbitt, a 6-3, 205 combo guard is still uncommitted. He leads the team in pts, rebs, assts & stls.

Bobbitt would make the perfect replacement for RV should he choose to go elsewhere. Combo guard so he could take some of the pressure off of MM, if Custer isn't ready for primetime. Can score a lot at SG, which is exactly what we could be missing next year if no RV and MT/Naz don't get significantly better.

@tchoopsczar: Alex Illikainen at today's Creighton game. Will also be attending Tuesday's Big East opener vs Marquette.

Pretty sure I saw Coach MacD was at Alex I's game earlier this week too.

So, Cunningham?

I guess if he really wants to go to Bradley, so be it, but UNI 80 Bradley 46.
