Recruit Lists v2.0

Darren Wolfson @DarrenWolfson Caught up w/ Reid Travis. On whether he'll take an official to #Gophers: "I'd do an official. You want to show them how committed you are."

Darren Wolfson @DarrenWolfson (con.) Travis will decide on his other 4 official visits next week (already did Gonzaga). My suspicion: Stanford, Mich. St., MN, maybe ISU.

Hmm... Doogie is pretty connected with the prep area in Mpls. I really didn't expect Travis to do an official to Minn or possibly ISU. The staff must be really putting in work if it happens.

With Tillman and Macura as "Plan B" guys I think we would be fine if we strike out on Vaughn or Reid/Johnson and could land one of those and a JUCO

i sort of think Macura is a "plan A" guy. Also, I think both Tillman and Macura are plannin to make their decisions this fall, while at least RV says he's waiting to spring.

so the question is if travis really does visit for UNI, is that an official or not.

My concern is not that we aren't recruiting well is that we could finish 2nd on all of our Plan A guys. This is how it goes when recruiting at a high level.

Ya, that's the concern. In recruiting, there's no prize for being a bridesmaid. Hopefully, we land at least one more of our HS prospects. Two would be phenomenal. Otherwise it's probably transfers and Jucos which isn't the end of the world.

Man, if we pulled Travis and Vaughn to finish the class...

My favorite of Custer's responses in his ask.fm

Would you redshirt your first year in Ames if it meant more playing time in the future?
I'd do whatever Coach Hoiberg thinks is the best

Custer, Vaughn, Travis, Johnson. Think about that. That's FOUR top 150 recruits, and maybe soon to be FOUR top 100 recruits. We're 25% there my friends,

Thought a poster said Reis is taking an official to UCLA which that Minn. guy didn't have as one of his four remaining?

RT @MattWhitNBE Per my source Bonzie Colson, Reid Travis, and Martin Geben will visit Notre Dame this fall.

Guessing this will be Travis's 5th official. It really doesn't make sense to me for him take officials to Minny or ISU.

Colson had be planning on visiting ND all summer and they are going after him hard.

(I have a theory that after getting a first hand view of Niang/Ejim vs thier bigs last year in the tourney, the coaches may have decided the needed to add that type of element themselves. Colson is that type of player.)

I liked this because I agree. I think the coaches saw first hand how easily they got destroyed after thinking they were going to have it easy with their bigs vs. ours, It hit them pretty hard. Do you remember the pre-game interviews with their players? I'm sure the game shocked their coaches too.

Maybe off the bench, but I highly doubt he'd be starting over Nader.

I agree Nader starts next year, but it could be at the 3... thus opening up a posibility for JJ to start at the 5. In any case if Jaylen decides to come here he'll have ~20 minutes a game available to him as a freshman which is probably more than the Cardinals have for him in 2014. He was quoted as saying he doesn't plan on playing 4 years thus immediate playing time could come into play on his decision.

So humility is a strong point for him? He might want to play against major conference competition before he starts talking about declaring before he graduates from whatever college he isn't even attending yet.

I guess a lot of these kids don't have humility then. Essentially most of the Top 100.

You say 'humility," they'll say "goals".

JJ is 6'9-6'10 and he just turned 18. Very very young. He could easily throw on another inch or 2 and be that big guy every clone fan is looking for
