I have a feeling we got in on Horne at a good time and he'll blow up this summer.
This would be a huge get for next season:

He seems like an under the radar guy to me who we have a good shot at. I was surprised to see that he is the #7 scorer on the Under Armour AAU circuit and considering the talent there and some of the guys he's ahead of, that's pretty impressive.
I kinda want to see one of these kids who schools refuse to release, stick around. Then in a major game or something start shooting at their own basket or something crazy.
That would be hilarious, slash insane haha.
Side Note: On my 7th grade basketball team I had a friend who was really bad (only made it cause he was like 6'4. He hadn't scored a point all season, then in the second to last game he got a rebound off of the other teams free throw, and put it back up. 2 points for them. He was so pumped he scored he didn't realize what he did until half court when he dropped a huge F bomb, we lost the game by 2 points... He went on to make 1 free throw the final game. Ending with -1 points on the season. Believe it or not, he went on to be a D1 Tight End. And that, is my pointless story

What did I say about that? Oregon and maryland aren't the run of the mill deal was all I was saying they are thee schools for those brands.

A few national guys on Twitter were actually siding with Memphis too. Basically saying something must be very wrong for a kid to request a transfer in July and they wanted to get more details.
Not sure I'd want ISU to get involved in that situation, even if they do desperately need front court help.
I'd wager a little tampering happened. Pastner said he talked to him in ~mid-June and everything was good. Now it's not? Odd.

I agree we'll probably cast a much wider net than the previous staff. But it's not who you offer that counts, it's who commits and I'm not sure this staff has had enough time to build relationships with B12 caliber players to take advantage in this class.
Hopefully we can land 2 really good HS recruits in this class. 3 would be outstanding. The rest will likely be juco and transfers, which should be interested in the playing time we have to offer.
Who are some recruits people feel like we're in good shape with now? For me I'd go:
Greek Freak 2
Arlando Cook
Jeriah Horne
Malou maybe?
Kobe King (2017)
From what I've seen that seems like a good list. I think Malou would be a nice pickup and it seems like he wants to come here but that whole situation is odd.
As far as that Memphis kid goes; would be an unreal good addition at any point in time but especially now. And it is nice that we have an open scholarship and lots of playing time to offer next year but it seems like a real longshot that he comes here. Let's hope I'm wrong and Prohm and the staff work some magic!
