Recruit Lists v2.0

I love Monte's game. I think it can translate to the next level. Question is when. Certainly his assist:TO ratio is elite. He is becoming a better scorer. Question marks are his jumper and defense. I haven't heard much talk of his defense. I think he has quick hands and is a good defender, but not sure I would call him an elite defender yet.

He may be our best defender.....

I consider anything RP writes as an OP ED. Thats what happens when you work for the same paper for 50 years i guess.

I think it's relevant to recruiting discussions. Now, no need to hijack the entire thread, I agree, but Monte's future will certainly impact recruiting, and maybe give "clues" to speculate on going forward.

Of course what he does impacts recruiting but continually discussing his chances of turning pro in this thread is useless. Coach will recruit such that if Monte leaves he's covered his bases.

And even if he doesn't, a year for any PG to learn under Monte is never a bad thing. I think people are overreacting to PG's being offered. Agreed that it should have it's own thread.

Wasn't Monte the first or one of the first to meet with coach Prohm individually? Maybe Prohm told him that their goal is to get Monte drafted in the first round this year. And that's why Prohm had two past PG's call Monte to get him to buy in. I could be way off but Prohm seems to be pretty high on Monte.

Even if Monte does come back, I'd expect Prohm to be in on multiple pgs for next year. He has the most success to sell pg recruits, and it definitely wouldn't be the end of the world to have a freshmen pg learning from Monte for a year.

Hell, for a grounded hs recruit that isn't hell bent on being a one n done, Monte coming back for his senior season could be a big selling point.

He could be recruiting PG's so that one develops for a year behind Monte instead of coming in and starting as a freshman. That's a thing too. Monte wasn't a day one starter his freshman year either.

CycloneAlert tweeted about an update with John Brown. I know it's insider but can anyone confirm that he is transferring from it?

Haven't reviewed the last 20 pages but has there been any mention of Brady Ernst, 6"8" forward from Clinton, making an unofficial visit last week. Holds several mid-major offers including UNI but has yet to commit. Tore his ACL back in February.

He did?
