Will touch on this unless Jared wants to discuss in detail. Should have a written piece on this topic in the next week. For someone who doesn't watch the OL very often or know about that position group, what details do they need to improve to start opening some holes for Montgomery?
When are you guys doing this? I want it now.
In the interest of time and since the news cycle is offense based, a brief response. I think Hummel is a very good player and will upgrade MLB should he beat out sutton. If he does not then that is good news about sutton. Spears and Harvey are very good in their roles and should remain solid in edge run supoort. I expect Rose and Vaughn to perhaps see time on special teams and a developing rotation role, bjt if they can be redshirted we all win. With Lanning gone, how will the new LB configurations change and does it effect the three man front?
Some analysis on the new football signings would be cool. Thought the recruiting pod with him was awesome!Besides the OC stuff, what would you like for Jay and I to touch on? Any questions y'all want me to ask him?
Agree with all that except about vance and bailey i think the will be put on rotation on linebackerIn the interest of time and since the news cycle is offense based, a brief response. The LB won't dictate the line rotation. The depth and talent on the d line will. Enyi, Lima, Johnson, Tongomoa, and Leo provide solid depth and upside on the interior. Benton, Lensing, Bailey with potential from Cordarrius Bailey and Vance on the edge does the same. Enyi and Leo can play and edge position as well. I suspect we will see some additional 4 man fronts just to get talent on the field. Espescially if one of the edge guys develops a consistent pressure profile.
Regardless, the d line prospects have transformed and fresh legs will be at a premium. I am hoping for a leap forward for Enyi and like the distuptiin a guy with his size and athleticism can cause. If Bailey adds another 5 pounds and continues to progress in discipline football IQ, then he is an all-big 12 talent. Put a ball hawk like Hummel over the top of that and running the ball will be difficult for opponents.
Love the defensive front 7 possibilities on this team.
I remember from his q and a with the media after his sixth year was confirmed he said that his shoulder injury definitely hurt him on his long ball accuracy and it was something that he wanted to improve on.We can all agree Kempt throws a lower velocity ball compared to Park and Noland. However, with Kempt's timing and anticipation of throws, is he capable of throwing any pass in the playbook? Or are there throws the coaches shouldn't call for him, and that he shouldn't attempt to make?
This is something I think is lost in the shuffle somewhat. Kempt wasn't the same after he came out of the game against OSU. I don't think he was totally right for the Liberty Bowl either. Shoulder injuries are tough on throwers. If he's healthy most of the year next year, we're cooking with fire.I remember from his q and a with the media after his sixth year was confirmed he said that his shoulder injury definitely hurt him on his long ball accuracy and it was something that he wanted to improve on.
