My better half watches reality shows. Two of her favorites are Duck Dynasty and Wahlburgers, and there are a few other bits of terribleness she also like to watch.

I get angry just hearing them play on DVR. I cannot be in the room or my head starts to pound and I want to break things. Please tell me I'm not alone in this.

Well Duck Dynasty is getting the axe so that will help with your problem a little. I do the competition type shows (survivor big brother), but the other day in the life types don't interest me.

The only one I watch is Ink Master and even it has gotten to be less about tattoos and more about fake drama. Not sure why anyone watches stuff like real housewives of blah blah blah or fake hillbillies that will slap their face on anything to make an extra buck.
Seriously, who buys Duck Commander Valentine's candy?

I'm more annoyed that reality TV style production and editing have seeped in to what are supposed to be legitimate documentaries.

Plus that it has destroyed just about every science/history channel since they are dirt cheap to produce and get good ratings.

No on the drama exclusive ones.
Can handle Survivor
Mostly do car resto shows. Even those have too much fake drama for me. A few exceptions.
No Big Bro, Duck Die Nasty, or especially Kartrashians!

We watch Survivor & Amazing Race. That's it for me.

He likes Hard Core Pawn (I think that's the name of it) and Pawn Stars because of the cool/weird/downright bizarre stuff people bring in. He also occasionally watches that show where they bid on storage units for the same reason. He used to watch "Cops" quite a bit.

I can't stand those, mostly because they use so much air time in teasers...meaning, you see the same clips twelve times during the show to keep you there for the last second. If they only showed the footage once, they'd have a 7 minute show. And shows like "Cops" tend to show the worst parts of humanity. Not my form of entertainment.

As for "real housewives of wherever" and all of the other niche shows about "family life" or toddlers with stage mamas or people who've never heard of birth control or various forms of hillbilly/rural/southern/excessive lifestyles (or any combination thereof)...NO THANK YOU.

I thoroughly enjoy Below Deck - Its about the crew of a luxury yacht and all the drama that comes with living and working with each other. I also enjoy Gold Rush, Deadliest Catch, Alaska: The last Frontier and Life below Zero

I'll watch the business ones on CNBC like The Profit and Billion Dollar Buyer. I do not watch, not support, any of the "human drama" stuff like Kardashians. Real Housewives, Duck Dynasty, etc.

Thankfully my wife doesn't watch any of them.

I do have to admit: Cops is classic and I still miss Reno 911, but yes, it shows nothing good.

I don't know how you put into objective information, but I swear since the 'Real housewives' type of shows have been around, society as a whole has followed that type of behavior as an example to follow. After the election, there were a few blurbs in the Yahoo! news page about various election-related things, and next to them was something about one of the Jenner women posing in full body paint. This is apparently what we value as news, and we only give attention to people who are extreme and loud and toxic.

On my fishing ventures through rural towns I swear the number of confederate flags on cars and houses has been on an uptick the last few years and I don't think that's a coincidence.

Oh, and I check in with River Monsters and some of those shows.

Still enjoy most shows about the way wildlife interacts, which is more realistic than the behavior of a lot of humans.

Survivor, Moonshiners, and Dual Survival are pretty much the only reality shows I watch anymore. Used to watch Duck Dynasty but feel that show has become way too scripted and overplayed for my liking lately. Used to watch Pawn Stars too, same thing with that show.

Was so glad when my wife finally stopped watching the Kardashians and Real Housewives shows. Talk about dumb and over the top drama, how those shows have lasted this long is beyond me.

The worst one my wife watches sometimes is called WAGs I think (stands for wives and girlfriends, so she says). It just follows around a group of NFL players' hot girlfriends/wives. Pretty brutal.

She has had me watch Married at First Sight & 90 Day Fiancé with her. The concepts of those shows is somewhat interesting, but still seems like mostly manufactured drama by the producers.

The reason I can't handle those judge shows. And I literally HAVE to leave the room if Jerry Springer is on. I would ban that one from the world if I were king. Along with other great ideas I have, LOL.

Never liked Idol. I think Simon Cowell was unnecessarily cruel much of the time. I liked the Voice at first, because of the blind auditions and the Adam/Blake interactions, and because they were nicer than the Idol judges, and they would give constructive criticism for why they didn't turn their chairs. Couldn't stand Christina & CeeLo though...too much about them, not the contestants. I still watch the blind auditions sometimes, but don't follow once they get into the competition stuff.

The ones I will never understand are the Bachelor/Bachelorette/Love In the Jungle...all of the "matchmaking" shows. Who in their right mind thinks you will find a lasting, loving relationship in a competition?????

My SO watches that crap but at least shes nice enough to either watch it when I'm not around or go into a different room. Our DVR has Kardashians, Rob and Chyna (I don't know who they are), The Bachelor, Bachelorette, Teen Mom, etc..

All I can do is laugh. It's insane the amount of people on those shows that are in tears because they lost someone they spent a week with.

I don't know how anyone likes this show..My gf watches it and it makes my head spin. The way everyone talks is so fake. Please enlighten me on why it's a good show.
