Realignment Megathread (All The Moves)

RedditCFB just casually pointing out that someone noone trusts (Mhver) had it yesterday that someone everyone trusts (Thamel) is giving us today. I'm here for the chaos.

Pretty sure others were reporting that as well.

That's what MHver does. He peruses other rumors and reporting and throws **** at the wall that seems plausible based on that. He doesn't have his own independent reporting.

Problem people have with Mhver is he will throw many things against the wall. One of them is bound to have some accuracy/truth behind it. When you have that reputation, your credibility is lost.

I don't know about most people but my household is kind of getting "streamers fatigue" with the amount that we currently subscribe to and how many are out there.
I don't see us ever ditching Prime, we like YTTV, Disney for kids, but all the others are close to the chopping block for us.

Samsies. The necessities are skyrocketing, so stuff like that is the first to go. We started ditching YTTV outside of college basketball/football season. We got rid of Prime because most of the **** you can get in a day, you can get in two says without the sub. The only thing we ever watched on Prime Video was Jack Ryan. I think Paramount+ is probably next on the chopping block. We've never even considered an AppleTV sub.

Yep, no way you're getting most casual fans to sign up for a PAC12 only subscription. We rotate our subscriptions right now depending on what we're watching

And worth keeping in mind, a casual fan might be getting the p12network through dish or sling year-round now because its part of a big package. Once its separate? Fans will cancel that **** in december or march.

So it's pretty obvious college athletics have become a business. What's a main rule in business - no emotion. The AZ and ASU Board of Regents have to look at their schools immediately and say - get out get out now. Nostalgia has no place here right now. We have to work our tail off selling subscriptions to our fan base just to match the current offer on the table that comes with no work.

Now to show emotion on my part. No brainer on their part, but I am so incredibly sad for Oregon State and Washington State. Those are quality schools who suddenly had their budgets go down the drain. Iowa State was not too far away from them a very short time ago.

Would anyone else watch a spin-off of Ted Lasso as the PAC commission if this deals comes fruition. You know, just a little cross promotion of Apple properties.

I cancel my Hulu Live so it's done after March Madness and then start it up at the beginning of football season. Got to imagine a lot of PAC subs will do something similar

"I am presenting to you, a brand new car! Yes, it's just a Dodge Omni, but if we add new tires, axels, bearings, rims, shocks, struts, fuel pump, bumpers, starter, headlights, tail lights, re-upholstered driver and passenger seats, and throw in a few more cup holders, we'll have a Porsche for all to be proud of!"

Does anyone know how commercials would work on Apple? Like with soccer (MLS) it’s pretty much straight game play except for halftime. How would they handle football?

I might be slightly interested in PAC games if you’d tell me there’s limited/no breaks and sub 3 hour games…

Funny thing is we have Apple+ and it's one of our favorite streaming services. They have a lot of really good shows and it is relatively inexpensive. Still, no chance in hell I get a pac streaming service on top of that.

Like I said, I will watch football any chance I get, even if it's between Iowa and Rutgers (shiver) or Fresno State vs UNLV. I love having games nearly every night of the week.

BUT, even with that and a subscription to every streaming service, I wouldn't likely subscribe to a PAC only add-on... unless they had games on when there was literally no other game on.

To build a revenue forecast on subscriber numbers that would have to be incredibly small would be a difficult task.
Iowa/Rutgers, or 2022 Colts/Broncos?

We’re at the point where we are going to have YTTV from Septwmber-March, HBO Max full time, and YT premium (no ads YT). So long Netflix, Peacock, Hulu, and Disney.
