Realignment Megathread (All The Moves)

That's what IC will look like.

But why didn't they have that all hammered out if that was the case, and announce it all at once? I don't think that's it at all.
My opinion (for what it's worth) is Warren's concern for antitrust action. I know this has been hammered on a bit already, but floating the 'rumor' to 'expand', the B1G can simply sit back and wait to see if the P12 implodes by the B12 taking the 4 corners. That, in effect, reduces the argument of coercion. It also, as you've inferred, 'delays' the action until the ACC GOR reaches a more manipulative stage.

Basically Big10 games from noon to 11pm at night on primetime tv

The concerning thing for the Big 12 is will there be enough room to get games on those same over the air channels? Will CBS and NBC be willing to make room at either noon or 2:30 respectively for Big 12 content? Or do they already have other sports content to fill those spots?

Maybe the Hoks can finally stop borrowing money from the University to pay for their lawsuits and yellow construction paper.
Anyone know how much money the state contributes to the colleges? Because if I were supplementing the institutions, I'd be thankful the media can contribute so I can defer funds to others needing it more. Just a wild thought.

Interesting. I figured Fox will always have top pick. I'm sure they will most of the time though.

I haven't been following this closely but how the hell is Big12, ACC and Pac12 going to survive? SEC, Big10 and ND are going to take over NBC, FOX and CBS. Big12, PAC12 and ACC are going to fight over ESPN spots?

I mean this sincerely, what else will they spend the money on? I'm sure they'll find something... but I do think we're to the point where we are at diminishing returns unless they can find a way to push donors toward their NIL.

The big behemoth is here. Further expansion seems likely, according to this and numerous other reporters' sources.

"Fox and FS1 will televise 24-27 Big Ten football games in 2023 and 30-32 games annually from 2024-29."

I'm really surprised it will only be about 1 FS1 game per week. Looks like 4 of 8 weekly games will be on BTN or streaming. I expected Fox to make a much bigger push to be the Big 10's primary carrier to compete with ESPN/SEC. Also surprised to see the small number of basketball games on Fox/FS1 (45) and CBS (9-15).

I wish ISU was in this situation cause we are always looking for money. I'm sure this money will go to retaining staff, improving facilities, making further upgrades to stadiums/practice facilities, etc.

I'd have to think NBC is done. The only slot they'd have going forward would have to start at 11AM Easter/10AM Central and I can't imagine the Big 12 wants to start that early.

CBS has 15 Big Ten games, plus 4 Mountain West games on the books. They could offer a prime time slot for 8ish games if they want to have football every Saturday night, which they haven't shown they've wanted in the past.

I think the Big 12 needs to give FOX/FS1/FS2 as much as they want and sell a smaller package to ESPN with a small streaming deal with Amazon or Apple.

The Pac 12 is absolutely boned.

Hopefully he only spent a couple hours in Ames yesterday because he's making deals and not being he is uninterested in ISU and KSU
Ames is a prime location of nation wide indiscrete meetings (small airport, centrally located, perfect time of year, hospitable people, beautiful campus). Anyone check to see if any reps from the 4 corners or whom ever else, landed at the airport? My mind is really wound up over all this crazy fun.

Take them to hickory park and show them the bridge and you got them.

Warren in Rose Bowl talks in Napa Valley, with Kaliakov(SP) as he slices and dices the PAC. LOL
