Realignment Megathread (All The Moves)

I don’t disagree, but if there was change like this; the cream of the B10 and SEC wouldn’t kick teams out, the would leave to join each other in new blueblood conference.
lol they aren’t doing this. The P5 already runs the NCAA. Why would they leave a conference where they get to beat up on schools and make the playoffs, to join in a conference where they hurt their chances of of winning games and making the playoffs? They are already set to double their current money in the new few years. At some point there will come a time when the media says yeah you aren’t work more. Especially when most of that nation is watching college football instead of the the 8-20 schools who thought they were better.

The elite schools breaking off to form their own division outside of the NCAA is just a silly scenario that isn’t going to happen.

Personally I kind of hope it does, it’s just a death sentence to all those schools.

If Fox and ESPN continue to battle for control

Something that causes a big difference between the two. Say, ESPN adds the best of the ACC, combines the PAC-B12-ACC leftovers into a 3rd super conference, then starts their own playoffs.

Good luck to ESPN then. B1G and Big12 will have options from the ACC too, ESPN can’t just say you’re going to the SEC or you can’t play sports anymore.

"First-year Pac-12 Commissioner George Kliavkoff was fielding calls from desperate Big 12 schools and had zeroed in on a few that he felt added enough value to strongly consider expanding the Pac-12 footprint into America’s Great Plains.

Kliavkoff assembled a committee of three presidents and three athletic directors to decide whether or not to recommend expansion to the larger group. The group met on a Zoom call to go over a 20-slide deck. But the Pac-12 was only about 15 minutes into its hourlong presentation before USC President Carol Folt spoke up.

Folt told the group that she did not understand why the Pac-12 would expand and expressed surprise they were even talking about it, according to multiple sources who were familiar with the call but not authorized to speak publicly because of the sensitivity of the subject.

“Carol shut it down,” one source said.

“She cooled the whole process,” another source said.

In late August, the Pac-12 announced it would not expand."

You have to assume FOX had been in contact with USC about moving to the B1G after the OUT leak, right? Why else shut down a discussion that quickly?

Also, if you consider the PAC's lean away from religious institutions, they were likely discussing OSU, TTU, KU, and ISU. What could have been...
sounds like Kliavkoff was preparing to taper with the B12….

Lol. I’m not saying they are, I was agreeing with you that no one is kicking teams out, but just suggesting that if it did go that direction; they would leave versus kick out.

It’ll be interesting to see at what point ESPN and Fox say we actually can’t give you a raise this year. We actually are offering you less. 10 years from now? 20?

It will happen during the second negotiations if some breakaway super conference happens which for some reason a bunch of people think will happen. Which literally makes no sense. Unless they just want to fail.

Does he have the B10 messages?!
When he went off on the Big 12, I wish someone would have asked him? “Why are you attacking the Big 12 and not talking about the Big10? The Big 10 actually stole teams from your conference?”

It’s insane to me how the narrative is always positive about the Big 10 and SEC actively breaking up conferences, but the Big 12 tries to offer a decent landing spot to some teams and all of a sudden, we are evil.

For clarification sake for those that don’t know, this is Paige Spiranac. She LOVES America.

Apparently the members of PAC were fine & dandy with USCLA poaching, but by golly they aren't going to put up with any more of that! (Unless it's Big Ten again, because, hey, what can you do?)

Should have asked him if the big 12 had ever taken a PAC team, then asked if the PAC had ever taken a big 12 team.

It's somehow a badge of honor to join a conference with watered down schedules and made up rivalries.

It's arrogance.

While the Pac reluctantly concedes they are a notch below the Big 10, they are insulted by the thought of the PAC Light being lower on the totem pole than the Big 12.

Realignment has humbled the Big 12 for the last couple of decades, but the PAC Light still has an over inflated view of themselves.

You mean to tell me the historical Big 10 West isnt just a bunch of random games with trophies most people didnt even know were rivalries?

How could anyone possibly not care about Iowa/Minneosta? Or Ohio State/Illinois? Next you're gonna tell me nobody cares about Michigan/Minnesota
