Yep, I don't think Cal or Stanford have a landing place with us. Same with OSU and WSU. I'm honestly not convinced we would take all of the 4 corners or if we may just take the top two and then wait and see what happens to the ACC first.

That's actually how CU felt about itself (the academic types), and it dated back to the Big 8 days. They were already looking west in the late 80s.
IMO Colorado and Arizona join the Big 12. Money talks. Utah and ASU stay in PAC 12. Ego talks. Washington and Oregon want out. But only to B1G. They will be forced to a reduced share if offered. Most likely they do uneven revenue sharing in PAC 12 and they stay for a while. PAC 12 survives but is severely wounded. Big 12 adds CU and Arizona. And then makes the adds of Gonzaga and UConn to form the nation’s best coast to coast basketball league. Yormack will be more than happy with that for now.
Boise was a community college until the late 80s and now they're the same institution with a 4 year degree and a few master's level programs.
Stanford and Cal wouldn't be caught dead associating with them. I think it would be more likely that they de-emphasize sports and park everything in the Big West with all the other Cal system schools and go independent in football. They'd also probably love some kind of partnership with the Ivy League as well.
That could actually make some sense, at least for appearances and short term.
Then the adds to the P12 (eg SDSt, SMU) can take partial shares, and the savings passed to UO/UW to give them bonus pay. Meanwhile the rest like ASU and UU get the "full share" and can declare victory. Until they realize they are falling farther behind and get resentful of UW/UO. And it all crashes down when SDSt and SMU finally get full shares.
Although its tough for me to buy into a scenario where Colorado is the smart one...
Biggest thing in Colorado’s favor IMO is that they were previously part of the Big 12 and have history and rivalries with the old Big 8. Renew those rivalries. And also feed the perception that the Big 12 is the new #3. Arizona is more about the branding as the undisputed king of college basketball conferences. Along with UConn and Gonzaga. 3 elite basketball schools. And Yormack is going to tap international games to build visibility and brand of the Big 12. Yormack realizes the fight is on to grab the Big 12‘s share of media dollars and viewership.
For sure. Ivy is DI non-scholarship in BB and other sports. Not sure which other sports, though.
As it should. How is the PAC going to cobble together a TV package when the media partners are cutting staff. Staff that could be high profile now.

So with how long this is taking, what happens when Colorado and Arizona leave? Will they have to start over? I can't imagine that replacing those with SDSU and whoever would be worth the same to TV partners. And with how much smoke is around this, are those scenarios being worked into this deal?
Correct, ESPN is being told by Disney to cut costs, which is harming the PAC12's media deal. It's amazing that Yormark was able to get the Big 12 media rights finalized before Bob Iger returned as CEO at Disney, as he has been cutting costs across Disney's properties. There were even discussions about Disney spinning-off or even selling ESPN but Iger opted to hold on to the network.
And apparently the Regents agenda has identical wording to the one from 2010 when they moved to the Pac.
