I don’t think it’s an apology. Probably more of a heads up.Do you think Jamie apologizes to the rest of the conference for Randy?
This. Not to mention how pettty it is complaining about not getting free courtside seats. Honestly, I think the the bigger question is why were they ever given those seats and for how many years has this been going on?Really bothers me when the media makes things about themselves. This is a really bad look IMO.

Those seats if given for free should go to people like ESPN and Fox and CBS reps who have been involved in media negotiations or title sponsors and business partners of the big 12.
And then Randy blocked him.
Agree. At any football or baseball stadium, aren't the press boxes pretty much always way up high? How does sitting courtside position a sportswriter to cover the game better? Seems this is nothing more than him whining about losing a very nice perk. And I liked Yormark's honest answer... hey, we need to increase revenues every which way we can.This. i think it had to do with ease of access to the press room. but really they just feel slighted i imagine and liked feeling like big wigs sitting courtside.Agree. Do you think we can put just Randy up top in hilton? That would be kinda fun. Or else I am good with moving all reporters to sell more expensive seats.Only reason Randy doesn't retire is having primo seats at games. Put him up top and he will retire.

Have them all look down from the spotlight holes in the roof.Do you think we can put just Randy up top in hilton? That would be kinda fun. Or else I am good with moving all reporters to sell more expensive seats.
It’s a generational complaint from someone who has spent the majority of his career in print journalism.i think it had to do with ease of access to the press room. but really they just feel slighted i imagine and liked feeling like big wigs sitting courtside.
"If the 208 floor seats Yormark repurposed (from media seating) are any indication, the nation's best basketball conference is about to become what Yormark promised: hipper, young, sexier. A Las Vegas on the Plains. Yormark took those seats, sold them out for $5,000 each to high rollers and created a Championship Club underneath the stands where only they can enjoy what amounts to a high-end, pop-up speakeasy."
Yeah that's an easy call.
I know in Denver the Nuggets/Avs moved Media Row to the very top of the stadium. Old, local print reporters like Randy complain about it on Twitter all the time. So, regarding media seating at events, I'd be curious what other conferences do for their tournaments? Do they do the same as us, or do media get courtside seats?
BY was an NBA guy after all. He knows what makes $$$ at games."If the 208 floor seats Yormark repurposed (from media seating) are any indication, the nation's best basketball conference is about to become what Yormark promised: hipper, young, sexier. 'reading the room' isn't exactly a life skill he possesses. it seems like that would be an important skill for a good sports reporter to possess (infer what you will here). It’s a generational complaint from someone who has spent the majority of his career in print journalism.
Back in the day reporters were catered to more because a.) there was more exclusivity in people covering the games, b.) they were somewhat celebrities, especially at the local level and c.) teams needed them for publicity.
The industry has completely changed. And, to be honest, reporters like Randy aren’t valued as highly as they used to be (for better or worse). It would behoove him to have some self-awareness and realize that, rather than ask dumb questions no one cares about.
