I could see Stanford, Cal, Oregon, Washington. But as pointed out earlier by someone (sorry no attribution) B1G is likely going all-in with the hard sell to ND, and maybe UNC.

Georgia Tech missed its chance when everything was about adding markets for BTN to be added to cable packages. It would have delivered Atlanta like Rutgers and Maryland did for NYC and DC; now the world is different.
I’m not sure how much AAU matters but still haven’t added a school without, except for Nebraska that lost it. But yeah ND isn’t in the AAU and they would be in immediately
Penn State might oppose adding Pitt. Some bad blood there, and they might not want to see Pitt as an equal again.

I actually think of Nebraska as permanently lower ceiling than Iowa and Wisconsin now. Even Minnesota could have more upside some day. They are a remote outpost with ridiculous expectations.
Adding UCLA/USC/Wash/Oregon is not going to lift up Nebraska relative to the rest of the conference either.
This is probably true. We're probably best off if the big 10 takes USC\UCLA\Oregon\Washington and the remainder have almost no choice but to accept offers from the big 12 if the big 12 sends them.
That's a really fun 16-team conference. If the OR, WA, Stanford and Cal are B1G bound as well.
64 team super conference? You mean like a 32 team B1G Division and a 32 team SEC Division. I mean that still could be where we are headed.
I still dont understand the short-sightedness of these super-leagues. Somebody has to lose, and by that I mean half of them. Most of these schools are brands because they win, if Oklahoma or UCLA for example start having losing seasons most years, their fans and viewerships are going to drop and therfor their value. I know they are cashing checks but at what cost?
And this isnt the NFL. They aren't going to get my eyeballs watching if ISU isnt in the same picture. Over the next 5-10 years, the value of all of these schools will go down if they break off and do their own thing. Nobody in the Western half of the country will watch. Am I the one taking crazy pills?

I'm guessing the end game is that there will be four conferences. SEC, Big 10, Big 12 and ACC. Four gigantic conferences. Probably would need a 16 team playoff. And it will probably be full of SEC and Big 10 teams. And Clemson and Notre Dame. And Alabama and 100 year old Nick Saban will crush everyone.
I know, kinda being snippy with that. The teams that definitely could be in trouble are the schools that are doubled up in a state. Indy and Purdue, MSU and Michigan, NW and Illinois. No need to have the also ran school
I'm just reflecting that I'm grateful to be here and not on the Oregon State or Wazzu message board right now. We had a scare last summer but we survived. They seem to essentially be dead already unless they can hold their 10 schools in place against the B1G money truck.
There wouldn't be divisions. 3 protected rivals + 6 rotating games in a 16 team league. Play everyone once per 2 years
If I am the Big 12 i would go after the ACC schools hard. Specially the basketball schools. If we arent going to be in one of the 2 super leagues for football, we can sure as hell make the premier super league for basketball.
