Realignment Megathread (All The Moves)

One thing that has me bent is the difference in how the AZ BOR is handling this vs how the IA BOR would.

At least the AZ BOR is doing everything in their power to keep both of their large state schools viable. I don’t think we can say the same about the IA BOR.

Are they though? If the Arizona regents are chaining Arizona to Arizona State, and Arizona State refuses to move because of Crow, then they are doing the opposite of keeping both of their schools viable. Theyd be dooming both to irrelevancy in an invisible apple-pac

We need to see what the ultimate end result is from the regents in Arizona before making a judgment

I can see what you’re saying.

I was thinking that if AZ was allowed to go without ASU, ASU would be totally screwed. Tethering them together doesn’t blow one of them up completely. Yes…they would both have a small, crappy media deal, but probably still better than the MWC alternative.

I don’t understand this mentality. So what - people get told stuff and they tell other people. It’s obvious NO ONE “knows” how this shakes out because literally things ARE changing by the hour. So no, when we get to the finish line, there should not be a source that is/was ‘correct’ every step of the way. Why would you expect there to be?
I'm not saying it's bad. I'm just stating that's what's going on. People just throwing out what they're being fed from the various angles. It's real-time reporting, which is going to be a lot more fluid and/or incorrect.

ABOR is also preventing at least one school from significantly reducing AD subsidies taken from student fees, tuition, and taxpayer funds.

This is way old, right?
That's what is funny reading this thread. People who skipped towards the end missed the "staying together" and then the "nope, breaking apart" parts right into the old "staying together" parts and are now worried about things that already aren't happening.

This is why everyone needs to get an EPL team to follow. After 25 years of Arsenal summer transfer window deadline days I’m well versed in how this all works. He’s coming, he’s going, now he’s staying, he’s been spotted at London Colney, he’s on his way to Italy now, two more coming in? Need to sell before they buy. Personal terms agreed just waiting on the medical. Work permit could be an issue.

All this **** is posturing.
UOUW are working the b1g for best they can get. They are doing all their negotiating in public.

AZ staying for less money, less exposure, worse bball... there is zero upside. It would beggar belief.
Apparently, USC hates oregon, and was promised by the BIG not to take oregon after USC joined the BIG.

I guess where money is involved, anything not written in blood isnt binding.

Also, Oregon & Washington are currently playing the Pac-12 for their benefit. Either using the meeting this morning to get a better deal from the Big 10 or unequal revenue sharing if they stay in the Pac. This is exactly the reason the Big 12 doesn't want/need Oregon/Washington. It would be Texas/Oklahoma 2.0 with brands that are worth far less than Texas/Oklahoma.

This post has more truth than the past 50 pages of the thread combined.
