Real Reason Greg Still Here

Whoa saving $500K by not doing it this year, big ******* deal. Pollard is becoming a joke of an AD.

Oh, cry me a bloody river. Yes, just because her didn't fire McDermott makes him a joke.

For me, the joke is the person who feels need to whine about it 2 weeks later.

Lost revenue for that year may be $2 million. I know I'm not wasting money on another basketball game/weekend until there's a change. I'm betting I'm not the only one.

Word on the street was that a donor was willing to ante up for a potential buyout, but was told it wasn't necessary for one reason or another. I'm assuming most people would know who this donor is by name.

I think Pollard has done an outstanding job in Ames except dealing with the MBB program. If what you say is true, I officially put Pollard on the 'short leash'. His fate is tied to McDermott's. If (when) McD utterly fails again next season both of their heads need to roll. Pollard seems like a gambler, I would not go all in with a pair of three's which is what Pollard seems to be doing. Who is he trying to bluff? Again, I say this only if what cy1010 said is true.

Hmmmmm.
Well, I may not be right, but I believe that Title IX was instituted because tax money was being used to pay for men's sports. People (and the government) didn't think it was fair that their daughters couldn't get scholarships to play at universities where their tax money was being used to exclusively fund men's sports.

Makes you wonder just where Title IX should really be now, or if/when it will end because now the schools will no longer be supported athletically with tax money.
That is the reason the university has made the appeal.

Go Cyclones
