To compare, Edozie only D-1 offers were Minnesota and ISU if I remember correctly. Players with his size and athleticism are pretty hard to find thus, coaches are willing to offer his "upside".
It is fine if you and others are down on Kasongo, that is what message boards are for.
I just want some evidence that he can't contribute to ISU as a RS Jr before deciding on Ray's ability this year.
You mean like Duke hiring Coach K from Army? Seems to have worked out for them.So the issue is hiring a low-level head coach in the first place?
Yet we had many of those same conversations under the previous lord and savior?
What? Because Prohm has more Murray State recruits now in the NBA than Hoiberg has he should be completely responsible for a roster that he has two years of recruits at?Therefore, Steve Prohm should be held accountable for his current roster at ISU.
i don't care about rankings...we just need all the help we can get.
every single b12 team has at least 1 big (most 2-3) that is bigger, stronger, and better at basketball than our inside guys. we just have a major hole in our roster right now.
watching TCU/OU/WVU/Tech/KSU/KU last night was sobering - we are so small.
This is a good post. I've never said the class was bad but Prohm and his staff were unable to land a single post player. Spring recruits generally are spring recruits for a reason.
I like Prohm, I think his staff his holding his recruiting back is all. He should be chasing Wiggington types and helping close the rest of the guys. As of now, 3/3 of the staff hasn't been the lead recruiter on a single player making an impact at ISU.
That is a concern to me.
Time will tell.
I've also seen people say he is criminally underrated and ESPN has him as a 4 star. That's a bold statement to make about a class that hasn't played a D1 game yet. One very nice player in Wigginton, Lewis looks like a Top 100 type (which is good but nothing atypical for ISU recruiting) and Mcneill is a decent scoring guard but not highly ranked. Nice class, but I won't dub it one of the best in the history of ISU yet.
I like this class, but Prohm still has his work cut out for him in the spring, since he struck out on bigs in the fall. Need to land 2-3 players, particularly JCs and transfers who can play right away... and they need to be higher quality than the transfers he took last year.
You are living in the past. A lot of HS McD AA wait until spring to sign. So there are some very good players unsigned.
ISU won't be on their lists, but a ton of high quality JUCOs don't sign until spring. Pretty obvious based on recent tweets, the staff is working the JUCOs hard for post players.
I would also expect us to be aggessive for grad transfer bigs as well. For what ISU needs for 2017/18, we are better off with Young, Lard, Kasonga and a couple JUCOs/transfers vs. a couple HS recruits
