The fact that Bolton went to Cincinnati then Iowa State and then... stopped. Silence. Nothing. Nada. Zilch. That is encouraging to me. You would think that if he still wanted to explore other options, you would have heard of other visits being scheduled.

I hope he's really into ISU but there is some mutual waiting going on about Wigginton coming back or not, even if the chance is slim, and the possibility of a waiver for him. I am not sure what grounds they might want to use considering he played in 32 games, started 9 games, and for 861 minutes last year (about the same as Michael Jacobson), on the other hand.

The only thing I can come up with, off the top of my head, is that it has something to do with a hostile environment there (Bolton was not the player who got shoved, but if a coach does that in public, you can bet it's not the first incident of that type):

Yeah, you would think that what amounts to a "hostile work environment" would be grounds for hardship and an exemption to the typical sit-out year when transferring.

His father putting the ball in PSU's court would argue towards that, as well.

Could just be the optics and pr of the situation. Make it look like you left LW with the option of coming back, and didn't force him out the door. It's just a week longer at this point.

Why are people assuming that this is the case!?!? There is literally nothing indicating this other than the fact that LW isn't ready for the NBA and 100% won't get drafted.

No. We’re on same page that LW is gone. His post, prohms comments, cw comments and national writers comments give no indication of a return.

Maybe there’s some merit to the theory the staff is holding off on going public with the Bolton commitment until it’s offically official but LW is not coming back to ISU and those who need to know that, know that.

I think everyone gets it - he's a long shot to return. But totally slamming the door on his return is asinine. People change their minds all the time, and if he's realized over the past six weeks that the only person who thinks he's NBA ready is him then it wouldn't be that shocking if he withdrew from the draft.

More likely Bolton (not us) is dragging his feet waiting for an announcement from Wigginton or we are trying to get better feeling on the waiver.

Pretty sure this has everything to do with Prohm and the integrity of how he runs his program.. like others have said it’s a very very low chance LW returns but if CSP were to fill his ship with no ships left what would happen if those in the LW camp hit twitter slamming his isu and LW not having any option now at all etc.. not saying they would but it’s not impossible either.. them you would have Bilas and all the Twitter people making isu and Prohm look bad..

It’s one week away.. not a big deal.
