I've ready a lot of different stuff about what went wrong against K-state, and there were a lot of issues, but I haven't seen anyone being critical of the way Parker played. Maybe it's just me or coicidence on the camera shots, but IMHO he killed us. Ever since jr High when I started playing ball, the DE is suppose to get outside and force the RB or the running QB inside. Parker was horrible at this and it cost us repeatedly in this game. I couldn't tell you how many times I saw him just reaching an arm out as the Kstate runner just trotted on by like he wasn't there. He looked slow and totally lost as to what his job was. He doesn't get pressure on the QB anymore, he is terrible against the run, I just don't know what he brings to the table. Now, I know that we are EXTREMELY thin at the DE and DT positions but it's my opinion that we should at least give Mansfield, JMCD or some one else some game time out there. He really looked like a D-1aa kid out there playing against and Orlando Pace type of line. Am I the only one who noticed this and am I being to hard on him?

He's probably doing his best... but unfortunately his best and Neal's best aren't good enough for Big 12 football. Sorry to say it. They are just way too undersized for their positions.

He is way to undersized to play DE in this league. He gets manhandled more times than not.

I am hoping that by next Saturday, we can have a separate thread calling out each starter. Not just the 22 on O and D, but specialists too. ST players, I am talking about you. Really, no one should be safe this week.

Our line as a whole is an issue. You could probably pick out a number of plays for any guy out there and say "look how bad he did there." It could be a tough season for us if the line gets pushed around. I know Wally is working with some slim pickings but I would like to see some creativity to try to cover for our d-line. Maybe more stunts or zone blitzes since our guys seem undersized. I don't see it as very fair to single out one guy though.

If they lose to UNI on Saturday, I can guaran-damn-tee that this will happen.

yes. david irving has a great frame. unfortunately, imo 6'7 might almost be too big. Hopefully He can turn into the next michael johnson aka "stick man"

BTW, does anyone know how to copy images from google (chrome) And put them into CF posts..?

I think our whole run defense is a issue we need to get something figures out there but i think our pass defense is solid but if we can get our rush defense figured out i think we will have a pretty good D.

There was so much talk about how inexperienced our LBs were coming into the season and that's certainly true. But I think some people didn't realize just how important the losses of Lyle and Frere on the DL were going to be to this defense. It's pretty clear that Lyle > Parker and that Frere >>>>> than whoever plays opposite Ruemp especially at this point in the season. Not to mention that Alburtis probably played more than anybody next to Frere last year and we lost him as well. There are way to many plays where the opposing team's O-line is able to get a body on our DL and then release and also lock up one of our LBs. I honestly don't know what can be done about it at this point other than hope the guys up front get better with experience.

Yes, I know how.

i can't copy image or image url. i've tried it on the main search page and then on the page where it just shows the picture. And even on the page where it shows which website it came from. lol

You have to click the button that says "see full size image" then copy that URL and paste

Parker has got to one of the few players to ever start 5 straight season openers. It just shows where our D-Line has been. He has 8 sacks over that time span, and a quarter of them came on back to back plays in his first game. We need an upgrade at the position.

I knew our D-line has been bad for several years now, but I didn't realize it had gotten that bad. Tough to believe he has only produced 8 sacks in, what, about 40 starts now? Good grief. I'm far too lazy to do it, but I wonder what our sack total has been since the start of 2006, when he was a freshman, just as a benchmark. Are we even averaging more than 2 per game?

I was really hoping that Parker would be a good boost to the defense with all of his experience, but, so far, we have not seen much. Maybe if the Clones play a few teams that are less interested in running right at them it will get slightly better. At this point in time it looks like the best thing that could have been done with Parker was to make him a MLB, which at least fits his size.
