I guess it's not comparing apples to apples but if you've ever known anybody that participated in a student exchange program in Mexico, it's safe to say that they aren't exactly more welcoming. Is two people considered a small sample size?

I was talking about just taking a vacation to the USA, so not apples to apples for sure. It's easy as heck to visit for up to 180 days.

With that said I am guessing that a lot of the people in Cancun hate Americans even if they act really nice while at work with us.

Solid dissertation meeting.
We're just looking at schedules and financial options now to call the date on defense and graduation.

Looks like a May defense, walk the May graduation, formally graduate in August.
The only reason adviser and I would look at other options would be income related, like no jobs available and a need for assistants here at ISU, or some weird combo where my committee couldn't meet for the defense, but they're all present in Ames doing work here instead of off researching somewhere.

And the community colleges are advertising now that the 4 year schools have mostly stopped. Possible options are opening up quickly right now.

Just saw that Marion had to play Xavier in the first round of state. Brilliant to put two teams against each other that reside maybe 10 miles apart. This also brings up the fact that Xavier can't decide which "level" to play in. They are 3A but depending on the sport play more 4A/5A schools than 3A.

A buddy of mine suggested setting up a "dating" service in Orlando, with the "dates" costumed as Disney characters.

I'll bet Orlando is quite invested in the Disney image and likely would come down hard on any Princess shenanigans. If not, Disney got so many lawyers that the judge would have to be looking for a larger courtroom.
