You know what really grinds my gears? My bank has sent me a second notice saying " you've exceeded the amount of transfer in a month". Apparently there's a limit to the amount of times you can transfer money on your phone or laptop in a month. Which makes absolutely no sense, like what is the point of mobile banking if your going to put a damn limit on it.
Is this a limit in number of transfers or amount of money?
If it is amount of money I would think it is a precaution in case someone accessed your account, but that is usually on a daily basis, not monthly. If there is a $ limit you can most likely go online or to the bank itself and raise the limit.

Where are you transferring money to and from that you'd exceed a monthly limit?

Savings to checking. Apparently you can only do that 6 times a month on a mobile device, which makes no sense. You can transfer an unlimited amount of times at the bank or ATM

It is odd, but I can only assume that it's done as a security measure to ensure nobody is slowly transferring money out of your account since it can't be monitored as easily.

Well, if you guys move to Canada, you won't have to worry about becoming alcoholics or smokers. The cost up there is prohibitive.

All they do in Canada is drink and smoke. When kids were little, one had an asthma attack in an ice cream shop there cause all the adults were smoking. What, you can't wait to light up ten minutes until your kid eats his ice cream? :rolleyes:Then they must have passed some laws but there is still a cloud of smoke around every door you walk in. In-laws are drinking pretty much 24/7 but I think that is the only way they can tolerate one another. MIL let our niece start smoking at 15 hoping she would quit smoking pot but now she just does both.

I think they spend money on booze and cigs just so they can use their healthcare, although if you need certain procedures, you better live another six months cause you'll have to wait that long.

MIL took a big hit when niece turned 18 because then she had to start paying for her psych drugs instead of getting them free.

It's a regulation for all banks.
It's there so banks don't need to spend too much time watching their reserves. As you expect, it's not there to help you. It's there to limit the amount of resources banks need to track their necessary reserve balances. The ATM or in person transfer thing is allowed because you could simply do a withdrawal and deposit at the same time. If banks fully had their way, they'd prefer to allow less than 6 transfers or to charge fees for them. I'm in an anti-bank mood today.

We're scrapping our Cancun trip next year with our friends because we decided that their teenage daughter's drama was gonna be way more than we wanted to deal with.

We're now in the process of picking out a new location for a vacation for just the three of us. We're hoping to be gone for around 6-7 days in mid-late June. Any recommendations? This will be our first international trip. I'd like to steer away from Paris and Rome because I'm hoping to hit those when my daughter gets older and can appreciate more of the history.

I've looked at Switzerland, Iceland, Norway and Ireland/Scotland. I'm also checking out Spain and Greece. I can find something that I will like anywhere, but I'd like a decent part of the trip spent away from heavily populated metropolitan areas if I can.

Whenever we get everyone's college paid for, I want to go to New Zealand if I'm not already in the old folks home.

Costa Rica or even better Columbia!

Plus it's all computer. It's not like this is 1960 and some bank clerk has to add and subtract amounts in some ledger book. HAL is not charging the bank per transaction.

Banks suck. Credit unions suck slightly less but are not inherently evil and out to **** you at every step like banks.

They"re better than Mexican knockoffs... but that's really not all that hard to do...
I'm not so sure. Years ago I worked with a guy whose dad would go to Harlingen Tx and pick up tons of Mexican Marlboros for his kid. They were rough but not as rough as the Canadian cigarettes I remember.

I would love to see Iceland. My sister went and the pictures are so beautiful

My nephew and his wife went to Iceland about two months ago. They said it was incredibly beautiful and the people are super nice. They got a pretty good price on their air fares too, IIRC.

I've tried both. The ones in Mexico had probably been stored in a dry cave for about 40 years prior to sale. Canada's were a little fresher...only about 37-1/2 years.

Northern Italy is fantastic. Lots of little villages with B&Bs and great food. Stay on the coast and visit the cities to see the architecture. Florence is highly recommended.

The new iphone maybe glitchy and stupid expensive but at least it is fragile and super crazy expensive to fix.

Definitely would not be going with the X. I am just laughing at the people who HAD to have one, then hated the changes because they didn't even bother to see what the X was going to be like. Waiting for them to drop their phones now . . . .
