As far as I know the latest was a woman called 911 so the cops showed up and shot her.

Dead serious. I would absolutely hesitate to call after dark if my place was being broken into. The risk of them shooting me is just too real. Last week they only shot the owners dogs after a false alarm sent them to a house. Cops version, "Dogs aggressively attacked me" while homeowners surveillance video show the first dog approaching the cop with it's tail wagging. Read the story and thought the owners were lucky that one of their kids didn't exit the backdoor into the yard or they might have been gunned down to. It's a ******* world gone ******* mad.

There were three shootings in CR last night. Thankfully only one hurt. It wasn't in the greatest part of town and were all related but one was right along 1st Ave and two blocks away from last weekends shooting a block or so off of 1st Ave. We took 1st Ave from downtown out to the NE side on Saturday night and I joked that we wouldn't get shot. #toosoon

Shot a woman in her pajamas who went out to talk to them after her family had called 911 about a possible assault in an alley. Not in a bad neighborhood (within blocks of where we biked around Lake Harriet) at all and this time they gunned down an unarmed white Australian whose only mistake after her household called 911 was to approach Mpls police and talk with them. Never approach these crazy *******, never, just don't. Maybe it will turn out she was crazy as a loon but she was unarmed and the cop shot her through his car door while he was still in his car.

EDIT: They ain't talking much and of course the cops have lawyered up and haven't even been interviewed by investigators. What is being reported is the dead woman was the one who called 911 and was talking to the drivers side cop when the passenger cop apparently reached past his partner and shot her multiple times through the car door/window. You can't even make up stuff this crazy.

There's also the cops that shot that person's two dogs.

I should have finished reading the last few posts...

Good grief. And I thought it was bad enough their body-cams were off. And if it happened as the story said, it explains why the dashcam didn't pick it up, either.

Stupid Turkey! And yes...I know that's redundant.
The turkey was about the least of the things that happened on my 50 mile ride Saturday morning.

I rode through the park and out on county roads. While out on one county road I see one of those abandoned farm yards where no buildings are left but the drive is still there and a turnaround in what once was the farmyard. There is an old luxury car and an old guy opening up his trunk. He was very interested in what I was looking at when I rode by. It bothered me so much that I turned around and went back. He had pulled out by that time. I pulled off and looked around where he had been parked but I must have spooked him into dumping the body somewhere else. I went ahead and emailed myself the plate number in case someone ends up turning up missing.

Once I got back in the park I decided to extend my ride and take the long loop. At one point I meet a cop car on the narrow park trail. About a quarter mile on another cop car with lights on. About a quarter mile further two EMTs on foot. I ask what is going on and they say that there was a 911 call that someone fell and hit their head but they couldn't find them. About a mile further I find another cop car parked at a mountain bike trail head. Another eighth mile and two more cop cars hauling ass toward the other one.

After I get done with that loop I decide to take the short south loop as well. I come up on a T intersection that always makes me nervous because there is a hill coming down to it the way I'm going and I'm always nervous that someone is going to do something stupid at the blind corner. I am already slowing just to be safe. Sure enough a guy comes flying around the corner not even slowing even though I am going straight and have the right of way. I surely would have nailed him if I hadn't already been slowing. I stand on the brake - it is a good thing I did because his buddy comes around the corner right behind him and I would have surely nailed him if I hadn't braked even harder.

After leaving the park and returning home on another trail I come across a big tom turkey just hanging out right next to the trail. I passed about 5 feet from him and he didn't seem to care a lick.

It was just a very weird ride.

Killer cops in the Twin Cities make me relieved for our small town hick cops that have nothing better to do than drink coffee, eat donuts, and remove bats from houses. Well and find bags of pot and try to trick people into showing up at cop shop to claim them.

Did have one of those scam warranty calls that came in on caller ID as the local law enforcement center. Maybe they are branching off into new activity.

Benjamin Franklin is WRONG. Every wild turkey I've ever come across has been dumb as a rock.
Actually, old Ben was trolling. Here are his remarks...he just hated using the Eagle...

“For my own part I wish the Bald Eagle had not been chosen the Representative of our Country. He is a Bird of bad moral Character. He does not get his Living honestly. You may have seen him perched on some dead Tree near the River, where, too lazy to fish for himself, he watches the Labour of the Fishing Hawk; and when that diligent Bird has at length taken a Fish, and is bearing it to his Nest for the Support of his Mate and young Ones, the Bald Eagle pursues him and takes it from him.

With all this injustice, he is never in good case but like those among men who live by sharping & robbing he is generally poor and often very lousy. Besides he is a rank coward: The little King Bird not bigger than a Sparrow attacks him boldly and drives him out of the district. He is therefore by no means a proper emblem for the brave and honest Cincinnati of America who have driven all the King birds from our country…

“I am on this account not displeased that the Figure is not known as a Bald Eagle, but looks more like a Turkey. For the Truth the Turkey is in Comparison a much more respectable Bird, and withal a true original Native of America… He is besides, though a little vain & silly, a Bird of Courage, and would not hesitate to attack a Grenadier of the British Guards who should presume to invade his Farm Yard with a red Coat on.”

@cyrocksmypants - re-watched the Blair Witch remake trailer and realized I have already seen it. Instead watched this:

Am I the only one who watched Gatchaman /Battle of the Planets/ G-Force as a kid? This movie was pretty decent. Probably a 6.5/10.

So I forgot to mention that my interview from last week went fairly well...lasted a whole hour and 15 minutes, and the discussion didn't feel forced. (Although, I think I rambled on one of the early questions. Case of the nerves)
But...lucky me...I now have a peer interview scheduled for Friday. Like one interview isn't nerve wracking enough. But, I totally understand. It's a smaller team within a team, so if I don't fit or mesh with them, then they need to start all over again. And, of course, it'll be one of the hottest days of the year on the day I interview. Hopefully my face doesn't melt off before I get there.

"Keep your eye on the sky" said in my best Chico Escuela.

Had to bail on the Twins game tonight cause sick* (again). Since I had to bail on friend I told her I'd give her a ride to and from the game since it's only three miles from my house and she could park here. Now looking at the radar and thinking I'll be running a storm and hail gauntlet later. ****.

* Losing man card points because I decided enough is enough and made a doctor appt for tomorrow.

Good luck. Can't decide which Indiana Jones movie melting face more appropriate here.

Made mad Boxster dash in the Boxster to pick up friend at Target Field and maybe drove a little fast on Hwy 55 on the way back till the skies opened and you couldn't see well enough for speeding. I think friend was showing a little little anxiety about the drive. No hail, yay!

Noticed a random guy I had never seen before walking around our neighbors deck after work. Probably should have been more vigilant and asked them if they had visitors...
