My fav bitter is still Emu Bitter but that's probably because I cannot get it and associate it with a cool vacation in Perth that occurred in a previous lifetime. By "previous lifetime" I mean way back when I actaully had a life that was not nearly as boring as my current one.

People come up with the dumbest requests.
Users access a specific system using a product called Switch. Every night the active users log off at about 23:30 and operations cycles the task to bounce any users that forgot to log off to free up all the connections.
So now someone came up with the brilliant idea that instead of cycling the task the active users could still log off and then we could display all the active connections and then just cycle any connection that shows active with a session.
I just displayed the current active connections and see 285 thus turning a task that is performed by a single command (that completes in about 1 minute) to an automated routine that could consist of up to 570 separate commands which will take a hell of a lot longer that 1 minute because each inactivate command has to be issued individually, wait for it to go inactive then you can issue the activate command again.
Here's a simple solution.

Maybe you should point this out to them. The always subtle " Hey b*tches this is going to make things worse instead of better." should alert them to that it may not be a wise choice.

Got a 30 mile ride in this afternoon. Got wet and bike is a gritty mess from last 10 miles in the rain. Damn it anyway. Boo the running gear clean up tomorrow.

Saw the sky go bad but looked at radar and it was isolated and north and clear of me. So I keep going for another lake and stuff just locally generated T-storms for most of the metro.

Knocked out 16 in the am was going tonight ended up with a rain shortened 10. When the cold front came through I was lucky to keep the bike up right. Neighbor took pity on me and stopped threw the bike in the back of his truck and stayed dry.

Twas sad when went out for anniversary earlier this week and restaurant was out of Peace Tree Blonde Fatale on tap.

Ran errands to eight different places around town today and was struck by the absence of dumb kids on bicycles. Most summers I have to brake hard about once a week for those little dipshits. Consulted teenagers about this, they said there are fewer kids parking bikes at the pool. Not sure if this is a sign of children spending all summer in air conditioning on electronic devices, stranger danger, or some combination.

Maybe fewer kids?

I know our school and many are shrinking. I've found from my oldest to youngest that parents don't seem to force the kids to go do stuff now as much.

Our enrollment is about the same as ever, because of small district nearby closed plus we get quite a few open enroll in from smaller schools than ours even. Still a ton of kids at the pool, they just don't seem to ride bikes there. Maybe it's our crappy streets, I could see those being a jolt on a bike.
