Why do pregnant women, no matter how far along they are, feel the need to put their hand on their stomach in every picture?

I do the same thing after I polish off a big meal.

I'm glad I looked at the interior pictures. The exterior made it look like they were selling a barn. The exposed rafters, wood floors and wood burning fireplace tell a cool story.
So some total stranger doesn't try to put their hand on their stomach.
Although I get where you are coming from. The social media female habit of hand on the hip in every picture I find nauseating. My nieces are now forcing their toddlers to pose this way as well.
It was part of the underground railroad. There is a "slave hole" in the attic. That was where they were hidden until they could move them on to the next safe house.

I think there's a "protective" side to that as well. But it's also pretty dang comfortable. I know I rested my hands on my belly quite a bit, regardless of standing, sitting, posing, whatever.So some total stranger doesn't try to put their hand on their stomach.

My obligatory males response does not mind the popped leg with hand on him. It seems to....accentuate....stuff.
