This is part of why I constantly nag husband that we need to print pictures more often. After last computer crash about ten years ago and many recovery efforts that got most of the pictures back, we now have an online backup and do print some off every couple of months. I prefer having printed pictures for grad parties too and not everyone huddled around a computer screen.

I like them - in the appropriate context. Using them for American commercials, or in American airports, is kind of pretentious.

have you used Google photos at all? DH still hasn't bought a new camera (he's got 19 days!) so I just use my phone and it all ends up on Google photos. Not sure if you can search by content but it sorts by date (and album if you have them sorted already) and is pretty easy to pan through.

pssst - from CG, that means you're a tool...
For those with kids or future kids (cough CG cough). We have used Lifecake and everyone seems to love it. Basically it makes a timeline of your kid through photos using the metadata in the photo to put it all chronologically. You can give family members and what not a link to view and post themselves. For LittleWx's first birthday I downloaded everything from there and put it in a Flickr album to have scrolling on the TV during the party.
No, the fun is when your toddler wants to put the laundry basket over her and crawl around and you can get her to say, "exterminate!"
