I'm shopping for compression shorts for the son for baseball right now. Maybe I'll pick up a spare pair for myself. Of course, I'd probably just fill the front sleeve with a sock or cucumber instead of important papers.

Some gear for softball I can get away with buying boys/men's stuff like UA shirts. She actually prefers them because women's compression tops are cut slimmer and she doesn't like that. But I can't get away with buying boys' compressions shorts.

This year for volleyball I only bought an extra pair of shorts, everything else from the previous year worked (shoes, ankle braces, knee pads) and jerseys/warm ups are provided. Already for softball I have bought cleats (coming tomorrow, they better work), new fielding glove, she needs new batting gloves but they discontinued they ones she likes, needs a new batting helmet for school ball, and really should get her a different equipment bag for school. She has 2 full sets of catching gear because club and school are different colors. Thankfully even though we bought her school colored set in 5th grade, it still fits. I think she is okay for bats this year, too. I was happy that the glove I bought for the 6yr old just starting was only $12.

Think we'll try to leave ours secured in the room most of the time. Plus I always save a copy of it to email/print off and put in a different portion of luggage. Photocopy probably won't get me on the plane but would likely make the process of getting something done at the Embassy much easier. Upper ups at work had passports and company laptops stolen one time while travelling. Sounds like it was a complete PITA trying to prove who they were to the UK embassy.

When I leave the country I also register with the State Department Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP). You get email notifications on security alerts and if I were to lose my passport (I also carry a photocopy like you) my information is registered with them for that trip. Say I lost my passport in Cancun last month. I would go to the US consulate office locally and they could log in and see I had registered this trip and was going to be here that week. If I had lost all of my ID's it would help them identify me as Boxster. "Oh, yes, Mr. Boxster, we have all of you passport data and contact info from your online registration". Also in the event of something huge, like a breakout of war in your vacation spot or a huge natural disaster they know you are there and have contact info (like your cell or hotel) to contact you if needed.

Okay, it's a Boy Scout be prepared thingie.

I had never heard of this before. I am going to do this!

Yeah. They haven't been a problem until now.

My oldest has his, he only ever had uppers, and dentist said since they came in straight, he could keep them although he might run the risk of this infection, or else with no counter on the bottom, they might just keep growing like fangs.o_O

I always hope I get abducted and don't have to come back. I hear most overseas abductees end up on a tropical beach resort with ample food, drink and freedom of movement.

Or at the house with the red door and need rescue by Liam Neeson.

I've thought about what happens if border patrol tries to go all "give us yer phone" and I end up being denied entry. Oh darn, I'll stay in Scotland, I suppose. Except it'd probably happen on entry to US which will be Charlotte. And then I'm stuck there, I suppose. Probably in detainment of some type. Ok, less fun sounding now.
