Random Thoughts X (The 9th Regeneration)

I had fungus toe about 15 years ago and the meds weren't covered by my insurance at that time. I ordered it from Canada.
May have been because of the diagnosis. The doc told us when he prescribed it that 9 times out of 10 the insurance company covering us rejects it when they first submit it. They have to go back and "prove a need" with the diagnosis. When we asked about that, he said they don't want to pay that kind of money for non-life-threatening health issues. He specifically mentioned toenail fungus.

We were pleasantly surprised to be the 1 in 10 that they didn't reject. Maybe because for the last three weeks they've been bombarded with claims for scans & labwork & biopsies, etc?

SOMEone is bored....

cause I'm still an old person with Snapchat and I didn't click it correctly the first time. Wasted one of my viewings
A friend of mine's granddaughter always logs into Snapchat on my phone so I get messages telling me that her account was accessed from another phone when she logs in from her mom's phone. Outside of people being able to use those stupid filters I have no idea how the thing works. I just log her off if she forgets to.

@GTO
I have an industry question for you. Yesterday, we picked up the prescription for the anti-fungal that PapaLew will be taking. I've never been so grateful for our Rx insurance plan as I was when I saw that bill. Our cost was $15. Actual cost was $1495. That's PER MONTH. How much does the insurance actually pay for the drug?

And how the hell does the SOB with no Rx coverage pay for something like that? Sheesh!
I'm no reimbursement expert, but they pretty much pay the difference minus any contract pricing with the manufacturer (which could be about as much as 1/3, or sometimes more in the case of 340B hospitals - also known as disproportionate share hospitals, federal agencies - like VA hospitals, etc.). If the patient is not treated/dispensed at any of those qualifying facilities, then full price.

14yr old and I snap more than we text. I still don't quite understand their form of snap chatting, just send pics back and forth of random things.

Only one of my boys has snapchat and it is only because his girlfriend made him. My nieces use it frequently, seems like it is always about shoes.:rolleyes: They want to borrow some, buy some, whatever. I guess I am involved because of same shoe size, but I have less than 10 pairs of shoes and I am old, I don't think I have anything to go with their new outfits.
