Please have the sense to not put boiling water on a car to thaw the ice. I'm sure I mentioned the story on here, but I saw a guy do this and his window spidered within seconds. Glass does not like drastic temp changes.

The wife and I are expecting our first child in January. Whilst hanging out with our in-laws today, wife's brother's kid was a complete little ******* the whole time. ****. I know I've got a lot of patience, but there were probably 8 different times where, if he were my child, he would have been taken aside and gotten a stern talking to.

Not a lot, but my wife does have one friend who isn't even close to being married or having children yet who has been talking and giving advice like she's the most experienced person in the world with kids. Just makes me roll my eyes.

Ha, people without kids that give parenting advice have exactly zero validity. You guys will be awesome.

One of my favorite moments as a new parent was getting little Cooler in the car seat at the hospital for the first time and getting ready to go home. My wife and I both looked back at her, then at each other and then back at her. It was a "why would anyone let us leave here with a child - we have no idea what the hell we're doing" kinda look.

So I just looked at the end of the first Random Thoughts thread and a mod complained about it slowing down the server after only about 9200 replies. Now we're around 14000. Did CW invest in some new server hardware, or are we making things as slow as molasses?

We've been as high a 20,000 if I remember right. I've always wondered how the Shag runs some of those threads to 50000+.

Texas is home to a national supercomputing center. One of the football donors probably pays to run the site on something there. Or they use something at Jerry World.

I don't know who to root for, part of me just wants this playoff nonsense to be over with by losing to a mediocre team. The other part wants them to think they are so good for going 12-0 and just get crushed by MSU.
